At the fair "Elmia Husvagn Husbil" we will award the prize "Destination Sweden 2024". A new feature this year is that you can vote! Five destinations are nominated ... and you are involved in choosing!

Destination Sweden of the Year - a destination for you with a motorhome/caravan

In the motorhome and camping world, prizes have traditionally been awarded to campsites and caravan parks. For many motorhome/caravan owners, however, it is not just the place where they stay that is important. It can be just as important to find pleasant areas to travel around in, which offer wonderful experiences and interesting sights.

That is why we have created the "Destination Sweden of the Year" award. The prize is awarded to a destination (a city, town or area) that can offer:

Good range of pitches and/or campsites
That you feel welcome with a caravan
Unique experiences and attractions
Preferably a destination that can be visited throughout much of the year.

Destination Sweden 2022: Glasriket and Kosta

In 2022, the "Destination Sweden of the Year" award went to Kingdom of glass and Kosta. In Glasriket you feel very welcome with a caravan and there are many experiences in the form of glassworks, art, culture and nature.

Destination Sweden 2023: Gränna

Last year, the cosy town won Gränna, where you also feel really welcome with a motorhome or caravan. Gränna offers charming environments and beautiful nature, as well as museums, cultural experiences and boat trips.

The prize is awarded at Elmia Caravan Motorhome 2024

Price Destination Sweden of the Year is distributed at Elmia Caravan Motorhome 2024, which will be held in Jönköping on 11-15 September this year. Elmia Husvagn Husbil is the Nordic region's largest trade fair for mobile life.

At the show, you can check out the latest models and products, as well as travel inspiration and entertainment.

Destination Europe of the Year 2024 - also at Elmia Caravan Motorhome

European Destination of the Year will also be awarded at Elmia Caravan Motorhome 2024. This prize has only been awarded once before, in 2023, and then it went to Děčín in the north-west of the Czech Republic, where you can visit magical Tisá - filming location for Narnia and hiking in Bohemian Switzerland.

Who will receive the award this year? This award is, as before, chosen by us at FREEDOMtravel based on our travel experiences. The winner will be revealed at Elmia Caravan Motorhome Friday 13 September at 16:00. Don't miss it!
