Increased travelling during low season
The desire to travel is high among Swedes and 55% say they will go abroad on holiday this year, compared to the 48% who took a trip abroad last year. This year, however, 38% intend to take their holiday during the summer, compared to 43% last year and 56% before the pandemic, according to travel agency Tickets' latest Sifo survey. This indicates an increase in travel outside the high season, and shows an ongoing trend to spread travel more widely throughout the year.

Reflection of the week
Interesting that mountain hiking comes so high up on the Swedes' holiday wish list! "Camping" came first in place 12 but on the other hand, based on the FB discussion after this post) that some people prefer to use other words, such as motorhome or haik, instead of camping.

Ditte says:
Inlandsbanan is recommended . Have travelled it a few times and then on my own and with different start and end points Like to be able to choose where I want to stay and how long and decide how I want to stay.
Local food is easily organised on your own and so are various tours with a guide. Feels like Inlandsbanan in four days is too short to take in what you see and experience but certainly a good trip for those who are unsure.
