What is it like to visit Stenö Havsbad & Camping in Söderhamn? We had two really nice days here, on the coast of Hälsingland, and really want to tell you about this lovely place.

Stenö Havsbad & Camping
Stenö Havsbad & Camping is a scenic campsite, which at the same time feels a bit like a local meeting point. Both tourists and locals come here to sunbathe and swim, do outdoor activities, eat in restaurants and socialise.
Stenö Havsbad & Camping is located on the coast, about 15 minutes by car from the centre of Söderhamn in Hälsingland.
Visiting Stenö Havsbad & Camping - motorhome, caravan, tent, cabin
We visited Stenö Havsbad & Camping with our motorhome, and since it is still a bit early season, there were plenty of places. We chose a nice place with a wooden deck, and a view of the water. Here we enjoyed nice (albeit a little chilly!) Evenings and we even took the opportunity to do a workout on our yoga mats.
As it is pre-season, there were many vacancies, but still relatively many motorhomes.
Of course, you can also come here with a caravan or tent, or book a cabin. There are around 190 electric pitches for motorhomes and caravans, as well as cabins and tent pitches.
Stenö Havsbad & Camping - a developing campsite
We had a nice chat with Carina, who is the head of the municipality's archipelago unit, and Siv, who is the team leader at the campsite. Both spoke enthusiastically about their work, which is of course characterised by challenges, but not least by forward thinking, optimism and lots of creative ideas.
Some time ago, the municipality began investing in the refurbishment of Stenö Havsbad & Camping, and there is no doubting the joy of this. There will soon be new service buildings, and already this summer there will be a brand new restaurant building. Next year there will be a new reception and a new shop, which is winterised. Things are happening at this campsite!
What is it like to visit Stenö Havsbad & Camping with a disability? I (Helena), who earlier in life worked as an accessibility strategist, am so happy when I hear that they are actively working on these issues. Among other things, there is an accessibility ramp in the water during the bathing season, accessible parking and accessible toilets.
Activities at Stenö Havsbad & Camping
So, what can you do at Stenö Havsbad & Camping? Many people who come here in the summer come to enjoy the sun and swimming at the fine sandy beaches.
There are several jetties, including an accessible ramp into the water. There is also a sauna, which can be used all year round. It's also nice to just walk along the water, while watching the reflections and the swans...!
There are also plenty of other activities. You can play adventure golf or padel, or perhaps hire a pedal car, bike, canoe, pedal boat or SUP (Stand Up Paddle-board). In winter, an ice skating rink is organised on the ice, because yes, this is a year-round campsite!
During the high season there is also a busy programme of activities. These range from treasure hunts, children's clubs and After Beach for the little ones, to activities for the older target group, such as bingo, a quiz walk and a market.
Stenö Havsbad & Camping is very close to nature and beautiful. There are also nature reserves with birds and hiking trails. For those who want, there is a cycle track, The sawmill stampede, which takes you all the way to Söderhamn.

Hi, it's been a while since I was on your nice blog and doodle a little!
We have recently visited Söderhamn,Skärså where we had good food and
slept over in their large car park so good!
We have visited Stenö campsite before but never spent the night there!
They seem to be investing heavily in the future, but it probably costs a lot too.
Take care.....

Hälsingland certainly has a lot of everything. It is a Swedish province that has had its own laws since ancient times and governed itself without 'superiors'. There was no nobility here either. Very fun to hang around with you. I have worked in Hälsingland a lot with travelling and always appreciated it.
Perhaps you will also take a trip to the Dellen Lakes. Recommended.
Nice to hear about this nice campsite but since we do not camp, there will be no visit here. But have otherwise visited a lot of fishing villages along the Hälsingland coast. Very nice. Have a good time.

We have been to Stenö and we rented a house privately. In the morning the hostess came and asked what we wanted for breakfast and how? Nothing that was included in the house but we had coffee with her, hugely nice and she got some reinforcement at the checkout. Lovely by the sea and we stayed at hälsingegård later. Travelled along the coast from Stockholm and upwards like you. And turned off a bit. Met only nice and easy-going people and so much nice there is to see.
