Best ice cream in Sweden - eleven favourites (in no particular order)
So, what's the best ice cream in Sweden, in our opinion? Of course, we haven't tried all the ice cream, but we love ice cream, so we've had time to try quite a few anyway... Here are our eleven favourites, in no particular order.
1st Glassiären, Karlskrona
On the main square in Karlskrona is the ice cream parlour Glassiären. The ice cream here is very good, and above all you get very much Ice cream. Make sure you're a little hungry before you go here and order your ice cream cone!
2. Gräddnos Gelateria, Stockholm
There is good ice cream in many places in Stockholm, but for our part, Gräddnos Gelateria on Rörstrandsgatan takes first place. Really creamy ice cream from a family business, where the family has its roots in Sicily. Don't miss it if you're passing by!
3. Helsingborgs glass factory, Helsingborg
Helsingborgs glass factory, in Helsingborg, makes artisan ice cream the Italian way. The ice cream can be bought in an ice cream parlour at Båthusgatan 4, on the way to Gröningen, or in the Ice Cream Bus on Parapeten. Which one fantastic good ice cream! When we were here we had the marzipan flavour. We can still dream about that ice cream!
4. Rättviksglass, Dalarna
During our last trip in Dalarna we had the chance to familiarise ourselves with Rättvik ice cream, which was a very pleasant experience. The ice cream, which is found both in Rättvik and in other places in Dalarna, has a wonderfully creamy texture. Our favourite flavour was egg liqueur!
5. Ottoglass and ice cream boat, Åhus
The small town in Skåne Åhus is famous for its ice cream. In particular, many people want to try the local delicacy Ottoglass. There is also an incredibly charming ice-cream boat, which doesn't serve Ottoglass, but on the other hand offers an incredibly lovely setting. And yes, the ice cream is good here too!
6. Smultronstället and others, Söderköping
Söderköping is truly the city of ice cream. The most famous is Smultronstället, where you can order really delicious ice cream cakes if you want. In addition, the ice cream at the ice cream parlour at Rådhustorget is super good.
7. aunt Elins, Hjo
If you want to choose ice cream from a long and exciting ice cream menu, you should definitely head to Moster Elins in charming Hjo. There really is a huge range of exciting ice cream creations here. And the ice cream is really, really good!
8. StikkiNikki, Stockholm
Another favourite in Stockholm is the ice cream chain StikkiNikki, which has several locations around the capital. The gelato is of high quality and the flavours, which vary, are often a little exciting and surprising.
9. Nora Glass, Nora
The glass in Nora has a history of more than 100 years, when Selma Gerdin started making and selling the novelty "glace". Today, ice cream is still served daily and you choose from the flavours of the day. We ate the ice cream in the centre, but it can be even cosier to eat it at Strandstugan or at the Selma G waffle house.
10. SIA Glass, Halland
SIA Glass is manufactured in Slöinge in Falkenberg municipality, in Halland. The ice cream, which is always really good, can be found all around in ice cream parlours, both in Halland and elsewhere. Yum!
11. Kling ice cream, Mariestad and others
Kling Glass is a small ice cream manufacturer from Mariestad. However, our best ice cream experience was at Smögen, where we ate one of our favourite flavours, rhubarb, in glorious sunshine.

This week we bought ice cream in Gränna at Grenna glass and this was a positive experience; liquorice and polka with mild almost subtle flavours became favourites while Lars did not really like raspberry ice cream. Two large scoops meant that there was no lunch that day... Otherwise, Noraglass is a favourite and to be a little patriotic, we like to buy Kling's ice cream which is available here in our grocery stores.

Oh, we were in Gränna recently, but it was candy cane then and no ice cream ... Thanks for the tip! 🙂

Kennys, Snö and Stikki Nikki are Stockholm favourites.
Otherwise Gute ice cream on Gotland and Glassmagasinet in Visby, by the harbour with several hundred flavours.
Also likes Klings ice cream in Mariestad.
But there are many.
For flavours, try a good sorbet, liquorice or salted caramel and toffee.

Thanks for more tips in Stockholm among others! We've seen snow, but always such a long queue... Thinking about checking that place out when it's a bit less peak season... 😉

Slagsta ice cream in Eskilstuna is a real treat.
Halvar's ice cream in Norrköping has been around since 1936, when I was a child and visited my grandmother there, I often got a five crown from her doorman called Budda. And then I had to go to Halvar's ice cream

Of mass-produced ice cream, I agree that SIA is the best but I prefer gelato.
Nothing in Skåne? In Malmö alone, we have the acclaimed Favvo ice cream in Saluhallen (whose princess cake ice cream is the most popular), Limhamn's ice cream dairy and several others. Also Hvens gas factory on Ven.
My favourite flavour is nocciola because I love Italian nuts and the best one is Bar Italia, a stone's throw from Turning Torso.

For us, the favourite SIA ice cream is chocolate crunch!
We can take the opportunity to give thoughts about an ice cream parlour in Hjo. The one by the bridge that used to be Österhagen's ice cream (we don't think it's still them anyway) is often long queues. It smells good of freshly made waffle cones so naturally to be drawn there. We ordered the flavours we wanted. When we went to pay, the price was 20 kr more than what is written on the signs. It turns out that they charge 10 kr for the waffle. So the price on the signs is just the ice cream ball. Then we saw several people having the same problem as us - when the ice cream melts, it drips out at the bottom and ends up in the lap... What about the taste? Neither or. No wow nor usch.
Just reflection from us. Next time we are in Hjo, we will try the ice cream at Njuta :)

Have just tested Olaol's ice cream from a farm outside Gladsax in Österlen and made from the neighbouring farm's milk. Must absolutely be on the list.
