Towards the end of our trip to Sweden in a motorhome, together with our South African friends, we stayed at First Camp Ånnaboda - Örebro. This turned out to be a very nice campsite, with wonderful experiences for the nature lover.

We arrived at First Camp Ånnaboda - Örebro with our motorhome. It is of course also possible to come with a caravan or tent, and there are also both hotels and cottages.
You are standing in an open and green area, and from here it is a short walk down to the lake.

First Camp Ånnaboda - Örebro has all the services you need, and the service houses turned out to be very fresh. In our nearest service house, each individual bathroom was large, and equipped with its own toilet and shower room.
We also had access to fantastic, fresh and modern facilities for washing up and cooking.
Upstairs at reception there is also a large and cosy bistro, as well as a kiosk and the possibility to buy fresh breakfast rolls.
Great nature experiences at First Camp Ånnaboda - Örebro
As we see it, people mainly come to First Camp Ånnaboda - Örebro for wonderful nature experiences, whether you want to swim, sit in the sun, walk around the lake, hike, mountain bike or - in winter - cross-country ski.
Bathing area at Södra Ånnabosjön
At Södra Ånnabosjön there is a nice swimming area, with both beach and jetties. This place seemed to be appreciated by families with children, and during our visit there was a whole bunch of people sunbathing and swimming.
There is also a nice house with glass windows facing the lake, where you can get protection from the wind on cooler days. There is also a sauna by the lake, which can be booked via Örebro municipality.
Walking, hiking and other outdoor activities
There is a nice walking trail of about 2.5 kilometres that goes around the lake. The trail is paved and easy to walk, while enjoying nice views.
There are also a wide range of other hiking trails and paths that take you deeper into the forests. In addition, over 200 kilometres of mountain bike trails can be reached from the campsite. If you don't have your own mountain bike, you can rent one at the campsite.
Additional nature experiences include fishing or maybe a SUP (Stand Up Paddle board) ride on the lake, and in winter, as I said, cross country skiing is big here. The nature in the area is very beautiful and we enjoyed just walking, sitting on a bench by the water or photographing flowers

Last spring, March, when we went up to watch whooper swans in Tysslingen, we stayed a couple of nights at First Camp Ånnaboda but then we rented a cottage. The cabins then looked like they needed a little paint, care and love on the outside but inside it was fresh. I can imagine that it is a good campsite especially for nature lovers all year round.

Glad you were here too! Interesting to hear your experience! We did not look very closely at the cottages, but the service houses were incredibly nice! And yes, for our part, it was probably nature that was the best here.

Looks nice, nice when it is so with everything well organised in beautiful nature. When I see the photos of the bath and walking paths, I think you are in our country😊so similar and we have a sauna, volleyball court and playgrounds. Thinking that we are spoilt actually with two nice houses there but got a little tired of going and all the traffic, but will be quiet when we get past Uppsala but not before that.
Örebro was visited as a child and teenager, I was there but not on a campsite. Then my husband's cousin became governor and lived with his family in the castle and we felt very at home there. Liked everything inside and out too. She organised a huge party for all the family and what fun it was. Then we experienced the city and the art that was going on then in both water and on land around the castle. Was so cosy atmosphere. We also liked Wadköping, we had a lot to do because we stayed.
Nice to see your photos now. PS Nora is nice too, you can take that later.
