Canary Islands make TikTok a success

The Canary Islands of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Tenerife have all become social media stars, thanks to posts on that have taken TikTok by storm. Playa del Matorral has been voted Spain's most beautiful beach by TikTok users, the unique building Lagomar with its beautiful architecture, has become a viral sensation and in Tenerife the small fishing village Bocacangrejo shared several times after being transformed into a colourful art installation thanks to a local artist.

Strawberry launches new hotel chain Stopover

The first of 20 hotels in the new chain will open next year Stopover. The 151-room, climate-smart hotels will have electric car charging, a gym, a playroom, a laundry room, a meeting room/telephone booth, a dog walking area and the possibility to have something good to eat and drink. The hotels will be built as wooden modules that are assembled on site. The first hotel will open in Falkenberg in late spring/summer 2025.

Most popular landmarks to visit in 2024

The desire to discover is growing among Swedes, and with it the interest in visiting memorable landmarks. Top of the list is the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu in Peru, according to Tickets' latest Sifo survey. More men are attracted to the Pyramids, while women are more interested in the Eiffel Tower. City dwellers are less attracted to Big Ben in London compared to other regions. The landmarks that attract the most:

Inlandsbanan back with journey to Jokkmokk market in 2025

Lion Alpin launches ski charter from Jönköping to the Alps

Now it will be even easier for ski enthusiasts in Jönköping and the surrounding area to travel to the Alps this winter. One of Scandinavia's leading ski charter operators, Lion Alpin, is launching for the first time charter flights directly from Jönköping Airport to the classic ski resorts of St Anton, Ischgl and Obergurgl/Sölden. Departure from Jönköping Airport to St Gallen in Switzerland will take place on 1 February and the return flight will take place one week later.

Time for Grötvik's Stone Cutting Days in Halmstad

On the weekend of 17-18 August, there will be wonderful family days in beautiful Grötvik in Halmstad. Associations and companies will offer a packed programme suitable for both young and old. There will be crab fishing, mini trains, sea rescue, skate school, sailing, wakeboarding, art and exciting stories from the Stone Age.

Reflection of the week

On the list of landmarks, we can agree that Machu Pichu sounds exciting. It must be fascinating to visit this place! By the way, we have to say that the new Stopover hotel concept sounds like something that is right on time!
