Greetings from glorious Greece! We are finally here in a mild and pleasant Mediterranean climate. It must be admitted that it was really stressful between the return trip from the fair and the next trip ... but now so! Happy Friday!

Flights to Rhodes
We recently told you about our plans for the trip to Greece. As planned, we flew with Aegan Airlines, Stockholm - Athens - Rhodes. The first route took 3 hours and 20 minutes. At the stopover in Athens, we managed to take a quick selfie that we posted on Instagram as a story (event).
I don't know if it shows that we were tired? Five days of an intense fair with stands, lectures, reports and social events takes its toll... even if it was fun!
After a relatively short stopover, it was time for the last flight, Athens - Rhodes. We just had time to get up in the air, where we were served coffee and a biscuit, before it was time to go down for landing ...!
Hotels in Rhodes
The hotel at Rhodes (which we booked in a hurry the night before we left) sent us an email about how to get from the airport to the hotel. Good one! We chose the budget option, i.e. a local bus instead of a taxi, and it worked just fine. We also met other nice Swedes on the bus - an advantage of travelling by public transport!
Hotel Parthenon has a good location in Rhodes town, within walking distance to the Old Town, so we were happy with the choice of hotel. This is a slightly cheaper hotel, so it is relatively simple, but still nice. There is a pool (which we didn't have time to check out) and a rooftop bar that is really cosy with wooden details, wicker furniture and lots of greenery.
Rhodes city
The main destination of our trip is the island of Karpathos, so in Rhodes we only make a short visit - partly before Karpathos and partly after. Rhodes is a very touristy island, and this is of course noticeable in Rhodes town, but at the same time it is a nice town with a fantastic historic centre.
Guest writers in other destinations
As we arrived in Rhodes, two of our guest writers were travelling elsewhere - on trips that will later lead to reports here on FREEDOMtravel. Jonathan visited Turku and Roksana discovered Lithuania. We look forward to hearing more about this in due course!
Around the same time, two other of our writers were at an event organised by Austria, then fine Austrian winter destinations such as Arlberg, Schladming-Dachstein, Skiwelt, Zillertal and Vorarlberg. Full steam ahead for this travel magazine!
Best this week
Best thing this week? Well, it's probably the fact that everything has come together with the fair and that we're off to Greece. It's been a bit too intense for a while, and we still have a lot to do because we're working while travelling, but we're still going to enjoy our days in Rhodes and Karpathos. The climate is really amazing and incredibly enjoyable!
So, your turn... what has been the best part of your week?
The week ahead
We will continue travelling in Rhodes and Karpathos, and you will be able to count on a lot of Greece inspiration here on FREEDOMtravel, mixed with travel news and maybe some guest reports. You can also follow our Greece trip on Instagram at @freedomtravelnews!

So glad the trip went well and that you are in place. And a nice hotel in a good location is perfect. Best thing this week? Everything! Pleasures every day in different ways. And not least the weather. The best was the visit with the Promenade Club out on Dalarö where some members of the club and who live there (writers, journalists) guided us around. A lot of old cultural history is preserved. In addition, a very nice environment. Yesterday was a nice nostalgia trip to Upplands Väsby, where I lived and worked for more than 30 years. The fact that it was also +23 and bright sun was also enjoyable. Nice restaurant visits and meeting with friends have also gilded the week.
Really love Stockholm.
Wish you a nice trip and hope you will enjoy Karpathos.
