What lovely September days we have in Rhodes and Karpathos in Greece! We started the trip with a day and a half on Rhodes, took the boat to Karpathos to experience this island for a week, and now finish with another day and a half on Rhodes. September offers fantastic weather in Greece!

A few days in Rhodes

You can fly directly to Karpathos with various charter companies. However, we flew regularly to Rhodes and took a boat from there to Karpathos. To avoid travelling too long in one stretch, we chose to take the opportunity to also see some of popular Rhodes.

This island is more "touristy", but on the other hand it is quieter even here in September. Overall, September is a great month to experience Greece - nice temperatures and fewer tourists. So far we have told you about the castle in Rhodes Townand we will tell you more about Rhodes in the future!

A week in Karpathos

So we have spent a week on the island of Karpathos. This is a dramatically mountainous and incredibly beautiful island, which we have become very fond of. So far we have been able to tell you what it is like driving a car on Karpathos. We'll tell you much more soon - about beaches, mountain villages, fishing villages and Greek food.

Soon time for the Travel Fair

Soon it will be time for The travel fair in Stockholm! Will we see you then? The fair will be held 1-3 October at Stockholmsmässan in Älvsjö and offers lots of travel inspiration to both near and far destinations. We'll have a stand, and we'll also be giving lectures on the Travel Fair stage. Welcome to listen to us these times:

  • Wednesday 2 Oct 16:10: Amazing nature experiences in Europe - 15 places to dream about
  • Thursday 3 Oct 13:10: Great cities in Europe - 15 unexpected cities to get curious about

Best this week

The best this week for us? Greece of course! Both islands, and Karpathos in particular, have surprised us positively. The road trips have offered exciting adventures and even though we are not on holiday (we have so much work at the computers, in the mornings and evenings), we are really enjoying the nice heat!

Your turn ... what has been the most positive aspect of your week?

The week ahead

We have a bit of time left here in Greece, and then we fly back to Sweden. Then we will prepare our lectures and get ready for the Travel Fair! Here at FREEDOMtravel you can expect reports from lovely Karpathos, mixed with travel news and maybe a report from the fair. Happy Friday!
