We are currently in beautiful Innsbruck, on a trip in cooperation with the Austrian Tourist Organisation. Here we are busy enjoying the "capital of the Alps", which offers both city life and beautiful mountains. Happy Friday!

From Stockholm to Innsbruck

We travelled (ungodly) early yesterday morning from Stockholm to Innsbruck. We flew from Arlanda to Munich with Lufthansa, and there we took a train to Innsbruck.

At the train station at Munich airport

When you arrive in Innsbruck checked into Hotel FAKTOREI - a really charming boutique hotel with friendly staff, cosy café and great location.

Good to be there and have checked in

An intensive programme in Innsbruck

We are in Innsbruck for just under five days. As the trip is a collaboration with the Austrian Tourism Organisation, and with Innsbruck, we have a busy schedule. They want to show us as much as possible in the days we have!

The programme includes city walks, castles, cable car rides up mountain peaks, restaurant visits and wine tasting. We are looking forward to this! The first day, yesterday, it rained pretty much all day ... Despite that, we have become very fond of this beautiful city - so incredibly beautiful houses and cosy cafes! Here are some first (rainy) photos ...

Would you skip a good ice cream just because it's raining? No, not us ...!

Since it's early mornings and late evenings, we haven't planned to blog much under journey, but you can follow in real time on Instagram at @freedomtravelnews. As soon as we have time, we will of course report here too!

What is this ...? A shop where you can buy fruit liqueurs from tubes ... !

"Destination Europe of the Year" award recognised in German media

Another thing we want to tell you ...! The prize "European Destination of the Year 2024", which we awarded at the Elmia Husvagn Husbil 2024 fair, went to the fantastic city Miltenberg, located along the holiday route Korsvirkesvägen in Germany. We have delivered the fine glasshouse car to the German Tourist Office in Stockholm, which in turn ensures that it is forwarded to Miltenberg.

The city is very happy and proud of the award and has now shared the news with the German media, which you can read about here. Very funny we think!

Best this week

The best thing this week? Of course, it's that we're in lovely Innsbruck! And actually, one more thing - we have finally had a fixed LPG tank installed in our motorhome. We'll tell you about it soon, don't miss it!

So, your turn... What can you highlight as positive from your week?

Perfect for strolling under the arches in Innsbruck, where you have shelter from the rain

The week ahead

We will continue to discover Innsbruck over the next few days. Here at FREEDOMtravel, there will be a mix of content, much of which we have prepared before the trip. Among other things, there will be reports on the assembly of the LPG tank, as well as on Rhodes and on a Swedish excursion destination suitable for children or grandchildren.

Greetings from beautiful Innsbruck
