Seniors are increasingly important to the travel industry

According to travel agency Ticket's latest Sifo survey, it is clear that seniors are an increasingly important customer segment for travel companies. According to the survey, a full 92% of over-65s say their travel has not been affected by the economic situation, compared to 74% of the total population. Their more stable finances and ability to travel outside peak seasons give them a significant role in the travel industry. The five most visited destinations among Swedish seniors:

  1. Gran Canaria, Canary Islands
  2. Mallorca, Spain
  3. Crete, Greece
  4. Rhodes, Greece
  5. Larnaca, Cyprus

Almost 35 years since the Berlin Wall came down

On the weekend of 9-10 November, Berlin is celebrating under the theme "Keep the peace loud". Along the inside of the former wall, a four-kilometre-long outdoor installation will feature thousands of old and new posters. In the evening, thousands of musicians fill the streets. Pussy Riot closes the evening.

The most popular guided tour is cycling along the wall. The world's largest outdoor gallery, the East Side Gallery, was completed in 1990. 118 artists from 21 different countries participated. Don't miss artist Yadegar Asisi's 360-degree panorama Die Mauer. Here you can walk on both sides of the wall as it looked on an autumn day in 1980. Book a train ticket now or choose a suitable event from the 2025 programme. Read more here. / Text: Agneta Rickardsson

Reflection of the week

The fact that seniors are important to the travel industry is not really new, but it is interesting to see where the target group is travelling. On the other hand, the top list, as usual, only shows a certain type of travelling. Of course, there are also many seniors travelling by car, motorhome, train, cruise ship, etc.
