Very interesting reading Helena !
I have been to several of these, most recently in Ystad, Wallander is very popular in Belgium.
When I was in Djibouti and the strange Lac Assal, I heard a rumour that Star Wars was filmed there, which was, as I said, a rumour, impossible to carry out a mega production there.

Helena says:
Glad you liked it Anna! It was fun to "research" and write about!
Star Wars has been filmed in several locations around the world, including quite a bit in Tunisia where we visited two filming locations:

https://www.freedomtravel.se/2021/11/tozeur-i-tunisien/
We also tried to visit a filming location in Ireland, but it was too windy to get there, but we wrote about the location anyway, with tourist office photos:
https://www.freedomtravel.se/2018/05/besoka-skellig-michael-star-wars-pa-irland/
It would perhaps not be impossible for a single scene to have been filmed in Djibouti, but I didn't find anything about it when I did a quick google.

Anna Nilsson Spets says:
No, Lac Assal is one of the most remote places in the world, you have to have a satellite phone there, no electricity, nothing

Ok, not so reasonable, I understand. Maybe it got a reputation because it's a special environment?

Mr Michael says:
That's interesting, I have an acquaintance who works in various productions around the country and abroad, it takes more than you might think for a TV series or film.
I've visited a few places but I'm keen to check out more, as I said, exciting.
Have a good time.

Thanks for watching with me!
I'm thinking of Kivik, Vitemölla and Haväng, which were filming locations for Richard Hobert's films. And Kullaberg and the surrounding area when they filmed Kullamannen, for example.
