Happy Friday! Here's a little greeting from us, Peter and Helena, and our life in a houseboat in Stockholm. This week we tell you about our work with our upcoming travel agency and about houseboat life in varying winter weather.

Meetings throughout the week ...

We have been busy with meetings just about all week, and the meetings will continue right into Saturday. As you may know, we are in the process of open a travel agency called FREEDOM Xplore. Our focus is "unique hand-picked travel experiences" and we draw on the best places we've visited ourselves over the years as travellers and travel writers.

In order to get the packages together, we have to talk a lot with different potential partners. This week we have had meetings with an overseas embassy (a very exciting country!) and a Swedish guesthouse (so cosy!), and soon a meeting with a European hotel (a beautiful hotel in an incredibly nice area!).

We have travelled a lot by metro and commuter train this week

Our guest writer Anna is back from Socotra

If you follow us, you'll know about our fantastic guest writer Anna Nilsson Spets, who lives in Belgium and travels alone to incredibly exciting destinations around the world. She recently travelled to the island of Socotra (in Yemen!) and you can read about preparing for the trip here. It's a bit of a relief to be able to tell you that Anna is back home in Belgium, safe and sound. She says the trip was fantastic and we're sure to get reports soon!

Houseboating in varying winter weather

For our part, we have stayed at home in Sweden, more specifically in Stockholm and mostly in the houseboat marina where we live.

The weather has really varied recently. One minute it has been snowy and fine, the next minute blizzard, then thaw and then suddenly cold again with slippery piers as a result. Well, the marina is actually sanding, but it's icy anyway. Here are some different photos from the marina in the last week ...

Best this week

Best this week? It's probably that we had some really good meetings with potential partners for the travel agency, which makes us believe that we can put together great and unique packages for you!!!

Your turn, what can you highlight as positive from your week?

The week ahead

We will continue to hang out in Stockholm during the coming week, and we have some meetings and events booked. On freedomtravel.se you can expect reports about a trip to the Baltics in the 1990s and about Moroccan food.
