Stockholm winter with snow, sleet and ice

Now we have a real "Stockholm winter"! Snow, sleet and ice take turns, and sometimes it's windy too. Houseboat life is all about shovelling and tying up moorings. But, we can also enjoy sunny days and we hope, hope that you will answer our survey!

Stockholm winter

We like real winter, but Stockholm winter ... well. It's snow one day, sleet the next and then skating rink when it freezes over again.

Sometimes it is snowy on the docks of our houseboat.
It's a matter of shovelling or sweeping on and around the gangway.
When it's windy, you may need to re-tie the moorings too...

The worst is when it gets really slippery. Just outside Pampas marina, where we live in our houseboat, there is an area that tends to get totally glassy. That particular road is our walking route to the supermarket and other errands... no joke!

In the water we currently have a lot of ice floes. On the other hand, we don't have much "banging" against the hull yet, maybe it depends on the wind direction ...

Doctor's visits and the January economy

We are currently mostly at home, working, running errands and taking care of other things that need to be done. There have been a few doctor's visits (spots to be checked, among other things) and all of a sudden one of Peter's teeth broke ... Yes, they can help fix this. And no, going to the dentist is not cheap. The already strained January economy became even more strained all of a sudden ...
