This has been a week full of impressions from all over the world. We've only been in Sweden, in Stockholm to be precise, but we've taken part in various events that have "taken us" to Italy, Estonia and Uzbekistan... Happy Friday!

Events of the week: Italy, Estonia, Uzbekistan
At the beginning of the week, we attended an inspiring event that focused on wines from Piedmont in Italy. The next day was a breakfast seminar on Estonia, and in the middle of the week there was an Uzbek cultural event with dancing and food. The Uzbek event we plan to tell you about tomorrow, so today there will be some pictures from the Estonia event...

Breakfast event on Estonia - at Soho House
So we were invited to a breakfast seminar on Estonia, organised at Soho House, located in a converted church building in Östermalm. Check out the picture below - this is an exclusive club, usually open to members only.
According to a googling a few years ago, a membership costs 26 000 SEK/year if you want to have access to all Soho House (39 clubs in different world cities) or 15 000 SEK/year if you are satisfied with the Stockholm club.

The reason we were allowed to look in here is that some rooms can be rented for events, and one of these rooms was used to organise the Estonian meeting. We were treated to a exquisite breakfast and learnt about the latest news about the tourist country Estonia.

Among other things, we learnt that Tallinn is the European Capital of Sport 2025 and Estonia is now 100% digital. Since December 2024, it has also been possible to get a digital divorce, thus completing the digital offer.

Time for friends
We have also had some time for friends this week. We met a friend at Urban Deli on Sveavägen last Friday. There you can currently eat oysters for 5 kronor/piece on Fridays. Quite an ok price, isn't it?
Another friend, from Skåne, turned up completely unexpectedly, like "I'm in Stockholm on business, are you home?". We were and then it was a long pleasant evening with food and wine here in the houseboat ...

Best this week
Then it was time to think about what has been the best this week. It's a bit difficult to choose, because this has been a good week. Apart from the sun shining (how lovely!) we have been to several inspiring events. We have to say that we are grateful both for the sunlight and for the opportunity to meet so many amazing people from all corners of the world!
Now it's your turn... What can you highlight as the best thing from the week?

The week ahead
What are our plans for the coming week? Well, we will continue to hang out in Stockholm. On freedomtravel.se you can expect reports on the Uzbekistan event, mixed with Sweden reports and guest reports. As usual, a report will be published every morning at 06:00. We wish you a great Friday and weekend!

What a great week you've had. I bet you can barely keep track of which country it is. Funny that there was an event about Piedmont just when you are planning to travel there. As usual, we don't know where the week has gone, but our little mini-holiday in Stockholm must qualify as the best of the week. Now we're looking forward to a week of socialising with old friends, meeting up with the photo club and trying to clear out some more of our books and things. We should not store more than what we will really use in the future.
Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

Oysters 5 kr! Incredibly cheap, and above all my husband had been in heaven, he is crazy about oysters and can eat without a stop haha 🙂
The best thing this week was my hike by rocks and sea incl. the first swim of the year on a deserted paradise beach <3
Have a nice weekend!
Hugs!

Yes, really good price! Pretty much everyone we saw ordered in oysters, so it went to many ... 😉 It sounds like a lovely hike with swimming! Wish you a nice weekend!

Hooray for a sunny week and many events! The best part of my week is definitely the feeling of being back in one of our favourite places in the world.

A lovely week with good food from morning to evening so to speak. I had never heard of Soho House - a bit of a masonic feel to the club, but the venue is WOW.
Then I have to say that oysters are probably the only thing that has gone down in price in recent years. Here, the local ICA fish counter charges SEK 10 per piece, which is super cheap. I remember when I couldn't afford oysters, which was probably most of my life - hahaha! Time to buy an oyster knife...
