Happy Friday! We were at an event yesterday - the Grand Travel Award at the Grand Hotel - but unfortunately you won't hear about it today. Simply because we plan to sleep in first! But soon, tomorrow, we'll tell you more. Until then, a short report from our week!

A week of events ...
This has been a week full of different events. On Tuesday we did a day cruise to Åland with Finnlines, and it was amazing! We have travelled with them before and we love their new stylish ships.
Yesterday afternoon and evening it was time for Grand Travel Award 2025 at the Grand Hotel, where travel industry awards are presented to the best companies in various categories. Great fun! We'll tell you all about it on Saturday!
... and houseboating
Apart from events, houseboat life (and work) characterises our life. Here you can see some photos from the week, before the latest snowfall.
Sleeping ducks
The picture below is taken from our kitchen window, in the middle of the night. Every night, about 40-50 ducks sleep on the C dock in the Pampas marina, that is, the dock we see from our kitchen window. They arrive in the evening and stay until around 5am.
Sure, they're loud and noisy, but it's still incredibly charming! In a way, this is what we like about houseboat life - even though we live close to the city, it feels like we are close to nature.
Best this week
Best this week? For us, it's probably the two big events of the week: the cruise to Åland with Finnlines and the Grand Travel Award at the Grand Hotel. Wonderful experiences and meetings! Not everything in our lives is fun and easy all the time, but as usual we try to focus on what is positive!

The week ahead
Haven't we been home in Sweden for a long time now? Yes, and it goes on a bit longer! This week we'll be back in Sweden, taking part in events about Italy, Estonia and Uzbekistan. We'll also be trying out a kind of "experience" that is completely new to us. We'll tell you soon, of course, and we'll mix it up with some other posts. Hope you'll join us!

I would have loved the sound spontaneously. In the summer I usually visit my mum in Näset in Furudal and the seagulls usually sound in the morning. It's a lovely sound to wake up to. Nature ❤️

What beautiful and peaceful pictures. It sounds great to live the way you do, I would love to try living in a houseboat, because boating is something that has always attracted me. Having both nature with the birds and city life so close sounds like a perfect combination :)

Such beautiful pictures and the week didn't sound bad either. My favourite before Friday night was the choir. Love my Thursday nights, best stress management. It has snowed tonight (Saturday) and we have three degrees below zero. I wasn't disappointed, yesterday and this morning's sunshine made up for all the grey and I think the snow is a bit cosy.
