We spent a night in "Oddis Öga", in the middle of the forest at Näsets Marcusgård in Dalarna. A tapas tray, a crackling fire and a large window facing the forest ... what an experience!

To Näsets Marcusgård in Dalarna
We travelled to Näsets Marcusgård in Dalarna by car, about 4 hours from Stockholm. On the way we stopped for lunch in Rättvik, where we also had time to have a video meeting - we often combine work with adventure!
Näsets Marcusgård is located in Furudal in Dalarna, about 39 kilometres north of Rättvik.
When we arrived, we were welcomed by the owners, Willem and Mireille, who ten years ago made their dream come true and moved with their two children from the Netherlands to Dalarna in Sweden. They quickly learned Swedish and today, with great enthusiasm, run their cosy farm with unique accommodation facilities.
Our accommodation in "Oddis Öga"
There are different accommodations at Näsets Marcusgård and we would stay in "Oddis Öga". This is a kind of design hut, located on a hill in the forest, surrounded by tall trees.
So, how cosy is this accommodation?
The design is really cool, with large windows on both short sides, especially on the "back" cross side.
Inside the small "hut" there is a dining table with two sofas, which at night can be converted into a double bed. There is also a bunk bed with two beds and a stove, as well as a walking booklet and conversation cards. The best part, of course, is the view and the cosy feeling!
Supermoon
In the forest at Näsets Marcusgård there is another unique accommodation, in the form of "Supermåne" - a really delicious accommodation among the treetops! We didn't stay here during our stay, but since it wasn't booked on this particular day, we were able to check it out properly.
Supermåne can accommodate two adults, or two adults and a child. It also has a stove, walking booklet and conversation card. But the most special thing is, of course, the cosy feeling of living in a "hut" among the trees! Was it rocking? Yes, a little, little bit.
Services for people living 'in the woods'
When you stay "in the woods" at Näsets Marcusgård (i.e. in Oddis Öga or Supermåne), you have neither a toilet nor a kitchen inside the accommodation itself. In summer, you have access to this at an outdoor kitchen, where there are also toilets.
During the cold season, you can instead use the facilities in the "Hölada", where there are toilets, showers, a kitchen and a common room.
Fähuset - accommodation for a family or group
If you have a larger group coming to Näsets Marcusgård, you can choose to stay in Fähuset. This is a large house, where there is room for about 8 people.
In the house there is a modern kitchen, a large common room, bathroom and a whole bunch of bedrooms.
Nature experiences at Näsets Marcusgård
So, why would you want to visit Näsets Marcusgård? One reason, of course, is the unique accommodation options, but another thing that attracts is nature. For anyone staying in the forest (Oddis Öga or Supermåne) there is a really cosy little wilderness sauna.
You can also go hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing (depending on the season) - and yes, there is equipment for hire at the farm. Not too far away there's also a swimming beach, but it wasn't really the time to check it out right now we thought...
Evening in Oddis Eye - with tapas tray
So, how was our evening in Oddis Öga? It is possible to book different packages and dishes, and we had booked a small tapas tray. This included bubbles, nuts, bread and Dutch cheese with mustard. Very, very good!
Night in the Eye of Oddi
Night was then approaching, and when you live in the forest, it feels like night comes early. The path towards the house and the kitchen/toilets is lit with small cosy lamps, but the feeling is still to be in the middle of nature. We are beloved really this!
Morning in the Eye of Oddi
We slept well in Oddis Öga and the next morning we woke up relatively early. The view through the big windows was amazing!
Another thing that was amazing was the breakfast. In our basket there was fresh bread, butter, cheese, different jams, vegetables, juice, health shots with ginger, eggs and a soft cake with banana and walnuts. Wow, so good! Simply a fantastic stay!

Wow, what an incredibly cool place to spend the night. Can imagine that it was an experience. The only downside is that such usually cost the shirt to say the least ...

What a lovely trip and what great accommodation. Oddis Eye looked very cosy. The super moon looked fun, and those that they move a little. What an invention, I guess they have plenty of visitors and night guests at Marcusgården.

What a cosy accommodation! We had never heard of this but we have several times thought about booking an overnight stay in one of the glass houses that are up in Dalsland. Here just outside Falköping we have Islanna Trädhushotell, where they built three small houses high up in oaks. We have only been to evening coffee in one of them when a couple of friends stayed there, so cosy and different.

Cosy and not a little adventurous in the middle of nowhere. However, nothing for me - without a toilet and bathroom - well; -)

Yes, a mini adventure! 🙂 You have access to a toilet and a shower, but you have to walk a short lit path to get there... 😉
