What are our travel plans for spring and summer 2025? We've been home in Sweden for an unusually long time now, but of course we'll be travelling. Let's talk about our plans!
Table of contents
Our travelling - a hobby that became a dream job
We travel a lot. It started a long time ago, with a great interest in travelling and a strong curiosity about the world. When we met, we both had trips we dreamed of - the Trans-Siberian railway and New Zealand - and we managed to do both. It was fantastic! "The 'marriage' grew bigger and bigger and we got a camper van to be able to travel for longer periods.
After a while, we established a travel blog, and then we started to focus more and more on travelling. We travelled, we wrote reports and we did collaborations. We also developed FREEDOMtravel and started working with Peter's brother on advertising on the site.
Unbelievable: We are now working full-time on our dream, with FREEDOMtravel. We're travelling and writing, and we have income from ads, sponsored articles and various other collaborations and assignments. Are we getting rich from this? Well, hardly. But we are getting rich on experiences, and we love this life!

Where did we travel last year?
Where did we travel last year? In short, we made these trips in 2024:
- January: At home in Stockholm!
- February: Round trip in South Africa
- March: Zimbabwe
- April: Weekend in Turku and a tour of Uzbekistan
- May: The glass kingdom and Kosta in Småland (with the motorhome)
- June: Gästrikland and Hälsingland (with the motorhome)
- July: Dalarna (with the motorhome)
- August: Sweden trip with our South African friends (with the motorhome)
- September: Karpathos and Rhodes in Greece
- October: Innsbruck in Austria
- November: Round trip in Georgia and Tallinn
- December: At home in Stockholm!

Now we have been home "for a long time" ...
In 2025, we have only made two trips outside Stockholm - a trip to cosy Näsets Marcusgård in Dalarna and a day cruise to Åland. By our standards, we've been home for 'a long time' now... So, what are our travel plans for spring and summer 2025?

Our travel plans for spring and summer 2025
Our big and main plan for spring and summer 2025 is to take our motorhome south in Europe. That is why we have prepared it with solid LPG tank and solar cells. We will be travelling to experience and report - and we will also be travelling to find new exciting packages for our upcoming travel agency FREEDOM Xplore.
Our journey will start with visits to Skåne and Poland. Then we will drive towards France and Italy. Peter has done lots of research and we have a long list of places that we want to visit, including collaborations that we will do. The plan includes nature, wine, food and boat trips/cruises.
We also plan to make our way back to Corsica and Sardinia, which we visited with the motorhome in 2015. We have great memories of these islands, and we have long been longing to come back. Getting there again feels... special!
We plan to leave in mid-April. We might also go on a trip before that, but we don't know yet. We will be in touch!

More about our travel plans...
We'll tell you more about our travel plans as it gets closer! A little later we will also tell you about the autumn plans. We have a lot going on actually, but everything is a bit "wobbly" and unclear, so we will tell you when we know more.
The only thing we know for sure so far is that we will be at Elmia Caravan Motorhome 2025. Among other things, we will talk about our motorhome holidays in France, Corsica and Sardinia. Hope to see you there!

Anna Nilsson Spets says:
That sounds good, you can overtake me when you are in my hoods.
My travel plans are pretty sparse this time of year but it will be
an excursion to Delft and another to Keukenhof.
Then a trip "home" to Sweden and a summer week in Bosnia.
Winter travel is between Mali, Sudan and East Timor.

I don't know if we will go that way? If we do, that would be super fun of course! Looking forward to reading about your spring trips, for starters!

What a great job you have and getting rich from experiences means more than getting rich from money. But yes, the income is needed too.
For us, it will be Gotland to begin with, but then we will see...
26 February 2025 - 8:30
Helena says:
Yes, that's exactly how we see it! You have to have some income to make ends meet, but if we just get it right, we're happy! Gotland sounds nice! 🙂

Hello!
What fun that you are going back to Corsica, we were there in the summer of 2024, and had checked your tips! I hope we can get there this summer again, maybe 2 last weeks in June. I have posted our Corsica trip on

Lovely travel plans for spring and summer! We haven't got any further than booking appointments for servicing, moisture tests and having a fixed LPG tank installed, which will make things easier in the future. Almost three weeks are booked on Gotland in May and in the autumn we plan to go south in mid-October. Before that, we will have time for a motorhome meeting, motorhome golf in Dalarna, Elmia and we can already see you in a couple of weeks at the motorhome fair in Älvsjö?

Helena says:
Service and fixed LPG tank sounds like a good start! And what fun, well then see you at the Stockholm Fair in Älvsjö!

Best life, Helena! You can make a living from travelling and this blog + magazines. It's wonderful.
I follow many people on YouTube who live like you, mainly Kara and Nate, but also Nikki Delventhal (lives in a motorhome all year round and travels around), Trek Trendy and others.
Congratulations on being able to travel for a living! So glad you'll be heading out again soon. I mean, you have such a good life at home in the houseboat too.
Sounds like you have good plans already. Hugs from me!

Annika, yes, we think it is fantastic! It's a ton of work of course (more than many people think) but incredibly fun!!! Thanks for the tips on different Youtubers!

Sara in Barcelona says:
So incredibly cool to experience so many beautiful and interesting places, and also be able to live on it thanks to your magazine <3
I'm a bit of a homebody but enjoy making small detours, there is so much around here, however, I am very keen on a campervan, but the husband is not quite as keen on the idea, haha...
I have a week in April in Sweden booked, and camping up in the Pyrenees this summer... possibly also a trip to Gran Canaria in May 🙂
Hugs!

Helena says:
Home can also be cosy! And you can make small excursions, a trip does not always have to be so far away! Nice plans you have!

I was already free riding with you 10 years ago (think how many years I've been here;-) so I will follow you this year too. Of course you will!
It's great to be able to make a living from your hobby. I don't think many people can do that, but you have certainly succeeded!

Helena says:
It's great that you've been hanging around for so long! Probably as long as I have been with you! 🙂

So cool to read about your travel plans! So impressive!
I have planned a lot of traditional trips that we do every year, already on Sunday there will be a ski trip to Järvsö that I do every year with colleagues, always just as wonderful.
In May, there will be no ESC in Basel, my hearing does not fix these big arena sounds, and standing room as well. Instead we will celebrate my husband's birthday in Gran Canaria!
This summer it will be Tällberg again and Dalhalla will get a visit, then we will see ...
Autumn is not planned yet....
Have fun!
26 February 2025 - 21:09
Helena says:
So fun with your planned trips! Järvsö is great, but we've only been there in the summer ... Great also with Gran Canaria, Tällberg and Dalhalla!

Weekend in Turku and round trip in Uzbekistan, such a lovely April it was ... I like the sentence itself. So many different places. It will be so much fun to follow you on your travels. You do them so well! Writes nicely, gives tips and excellent photographs.
So glad you can make a living from your hobby, although I realise there is a lot of work involved. Nothing is free, but I congratulate you on succeeding in what you want to do full time. That's great!
We probably won't go far from here... but a trip to Lisbon awaits later. Otherwise, it will be Madeira for the whole thing, there is so much to experience yet for our part.
Have fun!

Helena says:
So funny that you pointed this out with Turku and Uzbekistan, maybe it says something about what we like, from close experiences to more exotic ones... 😉 Lisbon sounds lovely!

Lena - good for the soul says:
Oh what a wonderful journey you seem to have ahead of you! It will be so fun to "hang out". We hope that we will be at Elmia. I have a friend who turns 60 just that Saturday, but don't really know yet how / if / when she will celebrate. We will buy the maximum ticket in any case, so we will either be with us on Saturday or sell otherwise. It does not seem to be any problem.
Hug Lena

Yossu says:
The travel "poison" is strong. I haven't been abroad since November and my body is screaming for new places and experiences. Luckily, the craving will be satisfied in a week.
In my opinion, it is experiences you should try to be rich in. They are what will make you smile when you (hopefully) grow old and think back on your life, not material things.
I have no summer plans at all because I want to do at least one trip first and then start counting and see what the finances will allow. But to go down to France, like you, would be great. I'd like to revisit Toulouse and Gaillac, but of course there are any number of French cities on the Must See list.

JoY says:
The picture with the sunflower field behind you is very nice. Sounds lovely with Corsica and Sardinia, of course we follow you down through Europe.
We also have tanks, put in so we have two pieces, which are now filled. Switched to Lithium battery. Ready to go when the urge strikes. See you at the fair in Älvsjö?
Have a nice weekend
