reflection of the week
Isn't it refreshing to have some April Fool's jokes? There's so much seriousness in the world, so a bit of humour is nice and relaxing, we think. What do you reckon?

Some April Fool's jokes are funny, now I've almost forgotten which ones I read this year.
But I almost fell for the idea that Kivik's muster would open an apple spa. It didn't sound that unbelievable, but sure, when you read the description it was a bit strange. Apple slices on the cheeks and some mustard residue to bathe in or something like that. But the apple is healthy, so why not.

I probably could have gone to that too. There are all kinds of spas, so not really easy to know ... but fun! 🙂

Here in Norrtälje, the April Fool's joke was that someone stole S/S Norrtälje and that they drove away with the boat's own engine 🤣

I think these April Fool's jokes are wonderful! There is so much seriousness all the time so a little joke is not wrong! 🙂

I also like April Fools' jokes. Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer every year. It's a bit sad to take certain events in the world right now as April Fool's jokes, even if they really qualify without the slightest problem, just as you write.
Fun with Reykjavik being at the top, and that despite volcanic eruptions and sky-high prices. You have lived there for a year so you know how nice it is.

Helena says:
Yes, some world events would have been better suited as April Fool's jokes than seriousness, but when it's not jokes, it's not so funny ... And yes, Iceland is a great country to visit! 🙂

Anna in Portugal says:
I actually think the April Fool's jokes are a bit silly. I can agree that there's too much seriousness in the media, but making crude jokes on a specific day doesn't help, I think. Mix the seriousness with more cosy stories, not jokes, I would have appreciated that.

A bit of fun, the library joked about scented books.
