We've had some great days in Skåne, including visits to good friends on the coast. In addition, there have been a lot of fixes and tricks with the motorhome, to really be ready for Europe. And then it was finally time to leave for the continent ...!

Great days with friends in Skåne
After the visit to Vidinge Gård in Småland, where we experienced a real great adventure with packraft, we set off for Skåne, where we planned to visit our good friends Daniela and Göran. Daniela runs the lovely travel blog Discovering the Planet and we have travelled together several times, most recently in Uzbekistan. Of course, we always have a lot to talk about!
I don't know why there were no photos of us together - except photos of Peter and Göran when they installed solar panels on our motorhome - Maybe because we had such a good time together! Instead, we took some pictures when Peter and I walked down to the sea near their summer house. Fantastically nice!

We always have a lot to talk about when we meet, not least about travelling, blogging and social media. I complained a bit that I haven't really figured out how to use AI in a sensible and constructive way, and got the wise tip that it might be better to start at a more playful level, instead of having such high ambitions.
The very next morning, I created (well, Chat GPT created based on my instructions) the following version of Peter and I, as a toy (based on some kind of trend that's going around on Instagram). Afterwards, I realise that I should have asked Chat GPT to make Peter's hair a bit more tousled... He's never been that well-combed, has he?

Malmö - with fixes and tricks
After the visit to Daniela and Göran, we rolled to Malmö, where we took in the caravan park Lagunen in Malmö. This caravan park is good, we think, with a nice location by the water and all the services you need. Almost, in any case. Unfortunately, the rubbish collection was closed in the low season. But, but, still a good place!
What we did during our short visit to Malmö? Mostly fixes and tricks! We've filled up on LPG, got some furnishings (some shelves) and bought some stuff that we need to fix our leaking grey water shut-off. Now we are ready!

Departure for the continent
After the stop in Malmö, it was time to travel to the continent! We travelled with Finnlines, from Malmö to Swinoujscie in Poland. We will tell you more about this trip tomorrow!

Film about Cairo
By the way, we were recently in Cairo, and now Peter has put together a film. You can check it out below! You are also welcome to follow us on Youtube here.
Best this week
Best this week? We have to say that this has been a great week! Above all, we are super happy that we fixed a lot of things in the motorhome (especially the solar cells!) and that we are now on our way on this year's big adventure!
Your turn ... what has been the best part of your week? Big or small ...?

The week ahead
We're currently in Germany, but we'll also be travelling back into Poland. We have lots of exciting plans, and if you follow us here, you'll see where we're going! You can also follow us on Instagram at @freedomtravelnews!

What a great week you had before leaving for the continent. Nice to get the motorhome fixed and fun to meet good friends. I agree that "Peter the doll" most resembles a well-combed chamberlain or pastor🙄 while AI has succeeded better with "Helena the doll". The best thing this week has probably been that the apartment is almost empty and that we sleep our last night here next night....
Will be exciting to follow you on the road!

Yes, you probably have to practice a little to get better at the instructions for AI ... 😉 Wish you a nice Easter!

Lovely days in our beautiful Skåne!
The best thing this week has been cosy meetings with the grandchildren.

So much you have done before the "real" start of the journey. Well done! Had a good laugh at Chat GPD's creation of you - hahaha! Okay, I might have recognised you, but definitely not Peter. But funny that you also got a little stuck for AI. I have also done that, but only for fun pictures. Texts I have tried but disliked. So I stick to my own words. It should also be added that images are easier to make if you give the programme (Firefly from Adobe in my case) detailed instructions in English. Short instructions are not understood by the programme. But it's fun to play anyway.

Yes, it was a nice "sneak start" on the trip in southern Sweden! 🙂 Like you, I have not been so fond of AI's texts, but it is a little more fun to play with pictures! I'll just have to practice the instructions... 😉

Fun with a little AI. Last week I have mostly made myself into a dog and Lizzla and the cats into people.

So much fun with that creation, Saw my daughter-in-law showing one, thought she ordered such a real one before I realised
Have a nice trip and a Happy Easter!

Hope you have a wonderful Easter and journey. My best day of the week was Maundy Thursday thanks to the nice weather. It was the first time this year that the guinea pigs were allowed out and I went for a couple of nice walks, one of which ended at an outdoor restaurant where I met two former colleagues. Not bad at all.
