We have to tell you about all the things we forgot while travelling... It happens to us again and again that we forget things in hotels, airports and destinations. It's always annoying, but unexpectedly often it's been fine!

All those things we forgot while travelling
So many things we have forgotten when travelling! We try really hard to be careful (it's important!) but it go not to do the right thing all the time. At least, we don't succeed in doing so. We forget things here and there. Unexpectedly often, things go well. Sometimes it goes worse.
1. Morocco: pass
We stayed in a cosy little riad, in the middle of the alleys in the centre Marrakech. We had had a good trip, but finally it was time to check out and go to the airport. Only when we arrived at the airport did we realise that ... the passports were still at the reception!
The taxi sped back to the medina, and from there we got jump to the hotel (as cars cannot drive all the way). We got the passports, from embarrassed hotel staff, and ran back to the taxi, which rift started.
By the time we got to the airport, the taxi driver was in such a hurry that he sped off, leaving our suitcases in the boot. We had to run after him and wave. He stopped. And ... we made the flight!

2. Turkey: mobile phone
Peter was on a press trip to Greece, without me. On the way home, the gang stopped off in Istanbul and Peter left his mobile phone ... in the small pocket of the front seat of the plane! When he entered the airport, he realised his mistake and had to start jump to try to resolve the situation.
The airport in Istanbul is largeand one counter sent him to the other. Would he make it? Yep, at the last second (after 50 minutes of running), with his breath in his throat, he got his mobile phone and was able to board the flight to Stockholm...

3. Estonia: rucksack with computer
A few years ago we visited Tallinn in Estonia together with Peter's older brother Micke and his wife. We had a camper van with us - because Peter and I would continue around Estonia in a camper van - but Peter didn't want to leave his rucksack in the camper van when we went to town. Because there he had all their valuables: computer, drone and God knows what...
Instead, he took the precious rucksack to the beer café and when we left an hour later... he left it! After half an hour, we all had a nervous breakdown and hurried back. And guess what? The backpack was still at the table!

4. Uzbekistan: jacket
The first time we visited Uzbekistan Peter brought a jacket that he likes very much. The jacket is from his favourite design Taracci, which has a shop on Gamla Brogatan in Stockholm, and he wore it closely throughout the trip. Just as we were entering the airport, he accidentally forgot it... in the tour operator's car.
By the time you get to the airport, it's too late, but we contacted the travel agency in Uzbekistan anyway. And guess what? Six months later, the Uzbekistan Embassy in Sweden got in touch: "Your jacket is here with us on Kungsholmen. Just come and pick it up!"

5. Turkey: clothes
When we visited Cappadocia in Turkey we stayed in one of the coolest hotels we have ever stayed in ever. Kayakapi Premium Caves is a unique hotel where you stay in luxury and comfort... in cave rooms! Sooo cosy and nice! Maybe that's why I got confused and forgot my favourite peaks in your wardrobe? Clothes are just clothes of course, but I have missed these actually!

6. South Africa: gimbal
When we travelled to South Africa we were warned about the high level of crime. We were given lots of wise advice about never putting your mobile phone down (not even in front of you at the restaurant table), being careful when taking money out of an ATM, not driving in the dark, and so on.
What did we do? First day i Johannesburg we visited a shopping mall, and there Peter put his gimbal (stabiliser for the mobile phone) on a bench... After all, this gadget is quite expensive! When we came back half an hour later, it was still there! Sometimes you get lucky ...

7. Egypt: mobile phone
Our last trip to Egypt was to Cairo. Here we had a great experience with pyramids, museums, markets and good food. When we were about to leave, for the airport, we only had a few minutes in the breakfast restaurant. We took something small, very quickly, and Peter put the mobile phone next to him on the breakfast table ...
It was only when we arrived at the airport, just over an hour later, that we realised our mistake. Panic! Our guide tried to help us in every way possible, but it was difficult because the hotel did not approve of sending the mobile phone with a "regular" taxi driver.
But finally ... A travel agency employee set off for the airport with his mobile phone. They arrived in last second and we received the phone from the other side of the security checkpoint. Thanks again!!!

8. Arlanda: computer
After we almost lost a mobile phone in Egypt there was a bad feeling left in my body. When we were about to get off the plane at Arlanda, I double-checked with Peter. Is everything there? Do you have your mobile phone? Have you looked properly in the seat pocket in front of you?
Everything seemed ok and we started to leave the plane. Then a girl in the seat behind asked: "This computer - are you going to take it with you?". Peter had put his computer, in a black case, on the floor of the plane and it was so We almost forgot about it. THANK YOU to all the kind people!

Well done!
When I came home with my granddaughter from Harry Potter, back in Landvetter we had to show the passport, again, but the ten year old had lost it on the plane. But no big problem, she looked Swedish... and a handsome policeman (!) ran and picked up her passport on the plane where she had been sitting.
/grandma's trip it was 🙂
