Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech

Yves Saint Laurant came to Marrakech in 1966 and fell in love with the colours and mystique. He bought a piece of derelict land and built a stunning Arabic-style park with water, small bridges, green plants and cacti. He himself lived here, and since his death in 2008 there is a memorial grove for him here. We visited the park and museum yesterday.

Visiting Berbers in Morocco's Atlas Mountains

Today we visited Berbers in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. We booked a minibus trip from Marrakech with a guide in French, a stop with a Berber family, climbing up to a waterfall and (of course) ten thousand vendors who wanted to sell necklaces, pots, knives, fine stones, herbs, spices ... you name it.

Quad biking in Morocco

Now we have tried quad biking in Morocco. We booked a quad bike tour yesterday and got to go to Palmerie, an area just outside Marrakech. We booked the tour on site in Marrakech, in one of all the small shops that sell excursions, and were picked up by car at the square when it was time. It was a really cool tour with a lot going on!
