Sweden's best rest areas 2014

Motormännen has carried out its annual evaluation of the country's rest areas. 270 of Sweden's 350 or so rest areas have been assessed by Motormännens vägombud, in terms of design, parking facilities, safety, seating, toilets, play equipment, walking paths, lighting, signage and cleaning.

Electricity generator for the motorhome

Do you have a generator, and if so, do you use it? We got a Honda generator when we bought our motorhome on Blocket in 2008. I would actually say that we use it very rarely. We often stay at campsites or caravan parks with electricity. If we're free camping, we often try to do without the generator because it makes a lot of noise.

Living in a motorhome in a car park - for five weeks

Now, and for the next five weeks, we are living in the campervan full time. This is not the first time we have lived in the car for this long. When we've been on holiday in Europe, it's also been about four or five weeks - and sometimes there have been four of us. The difference this time is that it's everyday life.

So, we moved into our second home! The campervan is in place in the marina and we have moved over clothes and food and other things you might need. It will be great to live here for five weeks. We have access to electricity, water, toilets, showers, laundry and waste management. So everything you need! And the houseboat is only a short distance away...
