Hotel Pirchner Hof - Alpbachtal in Austria

Now we're back in Stockholm, in the snow, but we're still dreaming of Austria and the Pirchner Hof hotel. So now we thought we would tell you a bit about the hotel we stayed at, in Reith im Alpbachtal. A really cosy hotel with fantastic views and really, really good food.

Reith im Alpbachtal - cosy alpine village in Austria

We spent our skiing holiday in a cosy Alpine village in Austria called Reith, or rather Reith im Alpbachtal. We didn't know anything about this place before coming here, but we have to say that this is just as idyllic as you could ever wish for. Moreover, we discovered that there are a lot of interesting local delicacies here.

Skiing holidays in Austria - snow, gluhwein and dumplings!

Yesterday when we woke up at the hotel during our skiing holiday in Austria, it was... even more snow! It had snowed all night, and it continued to snow most of the day. The houses here in Reith in the Alpbachtal were covered in a thick white blanket and everywhere people started shovelling to access cars and driveways. It was just a matter of putting on your coat and heading out into the winter landscape!

Skiing in Alpbachtal in Austria

We are, as you may know, on a ski trip and yesterday we went to the major lift systems here in Alpbachtal in Austria. After yesterday's soft launch we ventured straight up to the top and even Beata, who had never skied before, joined us. The view up there was of course fantastic! And how did it go? We offer a post with many pictures from our trip from the top and down to the valley.

Great skiing in the Alps

Yesterday we experienced our very first day of skiing in the Alps. ever. Wow, what an experience! We've seen the amazing view from one of the peaks, got sunburnt, got a workout, eaten goulash soup and drank beer in the sun - and I've challenged my fear of riding a cable car!

We are going skiing in the Alps! Wehooo! This will be something completely new for us, and it will be soooo exciting. We have skied before, but it's been a long time, and never in the Alps. In January it's time, and then it's off to Austria.

Through Austria by motorhome

We have now travelled through Austria by motorhome. The day before yesterday it was time to leave Italy. We drove north from Verona and entered Austria via the Brenner Pass.

Innsbruck again - back at camping Kranebitten

Now we are back at camping Kranebitten, where we also stood last time when we were in Austria. We have left Italy (for the second time) and arrived in Innsbruck (again). The campsite was almost full and we got the very last spot.
