Torre del Mar - Spain's beautiful south coast

Torre del Mar is a pleasant little town on the south coast of Spain. It has a nice long promenade along the coast, and quite a few Swedes have found their way here, especially in the winter. We have been camping here with our motorhome for a while, and soon it is time for us to move on to discover Granada.

We've tried cooking boquerones, anchovies or sardines the Spanish way. As you may know, we love seafood, and now that we're travelling around southern Europe, we're taking the opportunity to try new fish and new recipes.

Costa del Sol - and what do we do all day?

We have now arrived on the Costa del Sol, the Spanish sunshine coast! We feel like standing still at a campsite for a week or so, and have therefore been looking for a place that we can enjoy. Now we have found Laguna Playa in Torre del Mar, just east of Malaga.

Tarifa in Spain - Europe's southernmost point

Today we visited the southernmost point of Europe, located in Tarifa, Spain. From here it is not far to Morocco, and when you look out over the sea you see North Africa rising like misty mountains on the other side. Fascinating that Africa is suddenly so close!

Rainy at Tarifa - Camping Valdevaqueros

We have now moved to the Valdevaqueros campsite on the coast, one kilometre north of Tarifa in southern Spain. Here we are perfectly fine, even though the weather is really boring. But of course it can't always be sunny, even in Spain.

El puerto de Santa Maria - on the Spanish coastline

Today we left Seville and drove to El puerto de Santa Maria, just north of Cadiz on the Spanish coast. Here we are in a well-organised campsite right by the sea, but even though it's nice, we feel a certain irritation. During this little trip, we have been asked to show our passports no less than three times. three times!

Maria Luisa Park in Seville, Spain

If you ever visit Seville, don't miss the Parque de Maria Luisa. In some cities, guidebooks tell you to visit the city's park, and then you're disappointed when the park is nothing more than a green lawn with a few trees and flowers. When you visit Maria Luisa in Seville, you won't be disappointed! This park is a lush and colourful adventure with orange trees, fountains, birds, sculptures and amazing buildings.

Picos de Europa - national park in Spain

Picos de Europa is a multi-mountain national park in northern Spain, located just off the coast between Santander and Gijón. The road in from the coast heads uphill, passing charming villages, small hotels and restaurants and pastures with cows, horses, sheep and goats. The mountains rise dizzyingly high into the sky and this must be a great place to wander on a hot summer's day.

Christmas Eve on the move - and gas problems

We woke up on Christmas Eve morning with an empty fridge and a desire to travel. So we headed west! We stocked up at a small unexciting supermercada and set our sights on a year-round campsite in the Picos de Europa National Park.
