On a normal weekday, Peter and I had lunch together and took a walk among the ships on Norr Mälarstrand in Kungsholmen, Stockholm. We hadn't really expected it to snow. across the board, but maybe it gives a bit of a winter feel to the pictures?

Right now it's terribly dark outside, and you really have to make an effort to catch any of the day's light hours (at least when you work indoors during the day). We have visited this year's Christmas market in the Old Town, and at least it cheers up a bit in the dark with all the lighting and all the colourful stalls. Unfortunately, we have so far missed the neighbourhood's "living Christmas calendar", but if you're not familiar with the concept, we can tell you how it works.

Yesterday we visited the Nobel Museum in Stockholm, together with some of the other members of the Swedish Association of Tourist Journalists. There is an exciting exhibition about Nobel Prize winners in literature who have used words to revolt and create change. We also got a lot of interesting information about the big event that starts today and lasts for a whole week - the Nobel Week.

At 04:30 on Friday morning, the taxi was waiting for me (Helena) at the marina where we live. Then I had a long working day ahead of me. The journey from Stockholm to Elmia in Jönköping takes about four and a half hours by train and bus and I would be travelling back and forth throughout the day. In addition, I wanted to take part in the programme during the Human Rights Days in Jönköping.

Yesterday, I (Helena) visited Norrtälje, often referred to as the capital of Roslagen, on business. I work in the Stockholm County Council and since the county stretches from Södertälje in the south to Norrtälje in the north, there are sometimes longer journeys for meetings. After the meeting, the sun was shining in Norrtälje and I took a short walk along the Norrtälje river.

So, how Charming isn't Gamla stan in Västerås? This area seems to be called Kyrkbacken and is full of winding alleys with charming wooden houses. We walked around for a few hours yesterday and it was really beautiful. impossible to put the camera down. Moreover, we found a hotel ... in a treetop.

Now we have found a nice spot in Västerås guest harbour. Here we stand nicely with the motorhome by the water and are close to the city. No wonder this is a popular place! So far we have managed to take a walk along the water and seen a house that is ... halfway under the surface!

I quite often, work permitting, work from home on Fridays. Yesterday I was working intensively on a document I needed to finish, and in the middle of the day I felt I needed a break to clear my head. It was a walk along Hornsberg beach - with my camera at the ready, of course. So ... follow me through Hornsberg beach park and to Sandö Sugga lighthouse!
