Some days are nicer than others to live in a houseboat in the Pampas marina. The air is still cold, but we've had several days of clear blue skies and bright sunshine. The ducks are flocking around our boat and people are sitting outside the Sea Restaurant enjoying the sun. So far, only the icebreaker occasionally chugs by, but soon the water will probably be filled with other boats as well.

Houseboat life is never uneventful, indeed never. In the summer, you'll see all sorts of craft moving through the water: sauna rafts, submarines and people standing on boards and paddling. In winter, it's the icebreakers, skaters and divers that make you look up from your breakfast table. And then there are all the animals of course... and all the unexpected drama.

Now we have come home from Riga and today it was finally time to move into the houseboat! How does it feel? Actually really good! We are incredibly happy with our 1 year round trip to Europe and it is fantastic to move back to such a beautiful environment.

We are now back in Stockholm after a whole year travelling through Europe, but we are not yet back in the houseboat. The tenants rent by the month, so we don't have access to the houseboat until 1 December. There is always something happening in the marina! A few days ago we could watch a lifeboat exercise from our window, you know with those lifeboats on big boats. They threw the lifeboat upside down and turned it in the water. It's good to see that these things are practised!
