Cooking fish - 7 days a week

Can you really cook fish for dinner seven days a week? Peter offers me fantastic dinners every day, and right now it's pretty much all fish. We really love fish and it is a raw material that can be varied endlessly. Today we are simply offering photos and inspiration for more fish dinners. Do you usually cook fish, and if so, what kind of dishes?

Seafood buffet at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm

Last Saturday we enjoyed a seafood buffet at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm, together with Peter's son Robin, his wife Alexandra and their friends Robin and Elin. It has long been a "tradition" for us to visit the Grand's seafood buffet every other year or so, and some of the family always book a bunch of tickets for the following year.

Brunch in Stockholm - try K4 in Pampas marina

Want to try a really good brunch in Stockholm? Then we can recommend restaurant K4 in Pampas marina in Solna. As you may know, we live in a houseboat here. There is a restaurant down here in the marina and last spring it got new owners. We have long thought that we would visit the new restaurant, but it has not happened until Sunday, when the restaurant invited us residents to brunch. Wow, we just say! If you want high quality brunch in an idyllic setting - then you should definitely come here!

How do you eat crab? - now also on film

How do you actually eat crab? It's seafood season and we eat seafood every chance we get. If you've been following our blog for a while, you'll know that crab is a particular favourite of ours. We've actually written about how to eat crab once before, but now Peter has also made a film. It is not an entertainment film for a rainy evening, but simply an instructional film for those who want to know how to eat crab.

Sushi on a conveyor belt in Mall of Scandinavia

Yesterday we tried sushi on a conveyor belt in the Mall of Scandinavia in Solna. Or rather, Peter has actually tried it before, but this time he took me with him. We were going to shop for some clothes for once and at the same time we thought we would take the opportunity to eat sushi - on a conveyor belt. Really fun, I must say. And yes, good too!

Raclette in Switzerland - eating cheese for dinner?

We're back in Sweden, but now we have to tell you about the cheese and dish raclette in Switzerland! Before we travelled to Switzerland, I had a rather vague idea of raclette. I knew it involved melted cheese and some kind of side dish, but you can't just eat cheese for dinner, can you? Or can you ... ? We have now had raclette twice - once in the traditional way and once with a raclette iron on the table. Now we know a bit more what it's all about.

It's that time again and the weeks go by so incredibly fast. We have heat and I am very happy about it. The week has been up and down. I have picked up the motorhome in Kristinehamn with lots of errors and I am deeply angry, but we will take it on Tuesday with film and photos.

Perhaps the best sushi in Stockholm

This weekend we visited our friends Lennart and Beata, who live in Bromma in Stockholm. Instead of being invited for dinner (which we thought we would be), they wanted to invite us to their nearest sushi restaurant. We love sushi so we had absolutely nothing against it, but we didn't realise that we would be invited to what is perhaps the best sushi in Stockholm...!

Luxury canapés for the party

Yesterday, when I came home from work, I thought that Peter would offer me a "normal" Friday dinner. Maybe salmon or cod or chicken or something like that. Talk about getting a surprise! When I stepped into the houseboat, luxurious canapés were laid out all over the table, and Peter was busy opening a bottle of cava ...

Fondue - Swiss, Swedish and Japanese

I've always been a bit confused when people talk about fondue. What exactly is it? The word sounds undeniably French. But it also makes me think of the Alps. Peter, however, who is 15 years older than me, has grown up with fondue as a "Swedish classic". And besides ... you can get some kind of fondue in some Asian restaurants, right?
