We have previously organised dinner and wine tasting with a French theme. Last night it was time for a Spanish theme. The dinner was organised at the home of Robin (Peter's son) and Alexandra, who also made all the hot tapas. We took cold tapas with us. Wow, how much food there was! And how delicious! Last night it was grilled chicken thigh fillet with split potatoes and feta cheese scrambled here at Kapellskär's campsite. the evening was cold, so it was to grill outside and then have it cosy inside the motorhome. Yesterday we organised a French dinner and wine tasting at home. We tried five French wines, from different grapes and in different price ranges. We made the French dinner together: we cooked the main course and Robin and Alexandra brought the starter and dessert.

Now it was time for roast venison with baked root vegetables. We tried this after trying to cook deer, elk and wild boar. We cooked the roast in the oven and it was really good together with baked root vegetables, jelly and cream sauce.

Elk roast and juniper sauce today! After we cooked our luxurious dinner with deer fillet, we have become a bit obsessed with game. We haven't eaten much game before, so it's fun to try it. Today we had roast elk with potato gratin and juniper sauce.

It was not only the wine that was good when we organised a wine tasting at home. The food was also very successful! We've never cooked deer before, but it wasn't that difficult and turned out fantastic. A tip for the festive dinner, when you are tired of the pork fillet and the beef fillet, is to browse among birds and game.

Chicken all-in-one - the perfect dish

Chicken all-in-one! This chicken dish fulfils most requirements: simple, tasty, festive, healthy and cheap. However, it does require some time in the oven, so it's perfect for the weekend. The recipe was originally found in the book "Under the Walnut Tree", but perhaps modified slightly. Really good with a feta cheese scramble.
