Wow, what a trip to the desert we have experienced! We travelled from Zagora straight into the Sahara, not far from the border with Algeria. Hour after hour through three types of desert: sand, rock and what is neither one nor the other, but perhaps the bottom of a dry lake. Mechelinki has been a sleepy little fishing village on the Polish Baltic coast. Our friends have bought an apartment in Mechelinki in Poland. It is a newly built complex with a number of apartments with fantastic views of the sea. Mechelinki is quiet, but at the same time you can quickly get to bigger places like Sopot, Gdynia or Gdansk. Very nice location!

The Hel Peninsula in Poland offers fantastic views. This peninsula is a 35 kilometre long tongue of land that extends into the Baltic Sea. In most places it is so narrow that you can walk across it in five minutes. The feeling here, as you walk along the long white sandy beaches, is almost exotic.
