Here we present campsites and pitches in Finland. You'll find several great places to stay with your motorhome, campervan or caravan, ranging from simple pitches to more luxurious campsites. We, Peter and Helena, also offer our best tips on things to see and do in the neighbourhood.

Here you will find a list of campsites and pitches in Finland, starting in the north of the country and finishing further south. All sites have been visited by us, Peter and Helena, the people behind FREEDOMtravel.se. The prices indicate the current price at the time we visited the site (time in brackets).

Tornio - BestPark Toranda
- Description: Grass pitches with a beautiful view of the water. Good location for visiting both Tornio and Haparanda.
- Service: Electricity, water, toilets and showers, emptying of grey and black water and garbage collection. There is also a restaurant close by.

- See and do in the neighbourhood: You can check out the border area of Tornio and Haparanda, with shops, the River Tornio, the Struve meridian arc and more. Don't miss out on experiencing Kukkola Rapids.
Oulu - parking at Koskitie
- Description: Grass/gravel car park in an excellent location for visiting the centre of Oulu.

- See and do in the neighbourhood: Oulu offers everything from parks and museums to shopping. Check out Hupisaaret Park, Nallikari Beach and Karlö Island (Hailuoto).
Varessäikäntie, Oulu - . Best Park Varessäikäntie /Siikajoki
- Description: One of the many caravan sites in Finland booked through Bestpark.com. The site is nicely located by the sea, just under an hour south of Oulu.
- Service: Electricity, water, toilets and showers, grey and black water drainage, garbage collection and sauna.

- See and do in the neighbourhood: There are opportunities to experience nature in the vicinity of the site. It is interesting to visit Oulu and the lovely little town Brahestad.
Kalajoki - Kalajoki Top Camping
- Description: A large, family-friendly campsite located on a stunning sand dune. There are restaurants and activities such as surfing, high ropes course and zipline.
- Service: Electricity, water, toilets and showers and grey and black water drainage.

- See and do in the neighbourhood: There is a high ropes course and zip line right next to the campsite. There is also golf, a water park and a hot tub nearby.
Karleby - Kokkola camping
- Description: A campsite in an excellent location for exploring Kokkola. The campsite is also home to the Sea Park, a bathing area and a boat that makes trips to Fyrön Tankar.

- See and do in the neighbourhood: Kokkola is a nice town with wooden houses and the English Park. Boat trips to the lighthouse island Tankar are also popular, and we can recommend excursions to Larsmo and Ohtakari.
Jakobstad - Parking 6 Equator
- Description: Free car park with great water views and a good location for visiting Pietarsaari. If you want services, Old Harbour Park & Camping is nearby.

- See and do in the neighbourhood: The lovely town of Jakobstad with its wooden houses, restaurants and museums, and Fäboda with its beautiful nature.
Oravais - parking space in Oravais harbour
- Description: Nice and quiet site with a great view of the water in Oravais harbour.
- Service: Electricity, toilets and showers, latrine and rubbish disposal facilities.

- See and do in the neighbourhood: Take the opportunity to visit the Oravais battlefield and Furirbostället and Kimo Mill. You can also continue to the Kuddnäs Museum in Nykarleby, which tells the story of author Zacharias Topelius.
Vasa - Top camping Vaasa
- Description: Campsite in a good location for exploring the city of Vaasa. There is also a swimming area and a 'mini train' to the Tropiclandia water park.

- See and do in the neighbourhood: Discover the city of Vaasa with its museums and restaurants. Don't miss the Kvarken Archipelago, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the neighbouring High coast.
Närpes - Free camping at Fagerö Folkpark
- Description: Location at Fagerö Folkpark, by the sea and by the marina, where there are good opportunities for free camping.

- See and do in the neighbourhood: Not far from here is Närpes, where you can learn an interesting dialect, eat tomatoes and visit the open-air museum Öjskogsparken.
Kristinestad - Bockholmens camping
- Description: Campsite with a very good location for visiting Kristinestad. The campsite has a swimming area and a café/food court with popular ice cream.
- Service: Electricity, water, toilets and showers and the possibility of emptying grey and black water. Simple food service is available.

- See and do in the neighbourhood: Kristinestad is a charming little wooden town with several interesting museums. A market is also organised several times a year.
Rauma - Poroholma camping
- Description: A pleasant and lively campsite with a beach, restaurants, cafés and entertainment. Good location for visiting Rauma, by bike or with the "Little Train".
- Service: Electricity, water, toilets and showers and the possibility of emptying grey and black water. Restaurants are available.

- See and do in the neighbourhood: Rauma is a fantastic wooden town that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are also several fine museums.
Merimasku, Naantali Best Park car park in Merimasku
- Description: One of the best car parks in Finland! BestPark pitches are booked via bestpark.com. Fantastic location in the archipelago, with water views from several of the sites. 12 minutes to Naantali by car.
- Service: "BestPark Easy" with a BestPoint service module. Electricity, water and emptying of black and grey water. There is a nice restaurant right next door.

Naantali Naantali campsite
- Description: Naantali Camping is in a good location for visiting Naantali. If the campsite is full (which it was when we arrived) they have another site a little further away from Naantali.
- Service: Electricity, water, toilets and showers and the possibility of emptying grey and black water. The "main" campsite has a manned reception and reception area.

Turku - Runsala Camping
- Description: Runsala Camping has a good location for visiting Turku. There are also opportunities for sunbathing and swimming, nature experiences and a sauna.

Pargas, Turku Solliden Camping
- Description: Solliden Camping is a scenic and pleasant campsite in the archipelago south of Turku. Here you can stand in the forest, with a nice view of the water.

Helsinki - Camping Rastila
- Description: Camping Rastila is in a great location for visiting Helsinki, with the metro right outside. This is also a pleasant campsite and there is a beach.

- See and do in the neighbourhood: Nearby you can experience the whole of Helsinki, with architectural buildings, museums and boat trips. It is also interesting to visit the Fazer Visitor Centre.
Ekenäs Tammisaari Camping Ekenäs
- Description: Nice campsite with a swimming area. Several of the pitches have nice views of the water.

Campsites and pitches in Finland - good to know
There are plenty of campsites in Finland, but slightly fewer pitches. However, there are a few sites here and there, including those belonging to the following chains BestPark and Matkaparkki. Furthermore, it is relatively easy and generally allowed to fricamp in Finland, as long as you follow local rules and signs.
