We booked New Zealand for all four with adventures every day for three weeks, and planned the journey from the North to the South Island with maps and in kilometres.

We have been to Kenya twice. The first time (2007) we backpacked to Nairobi and took a train to Mombasa. The second time (2012) we travelled with a friend from Kenya and experienced everything from a traditional wedding with 400 guests to a remote rural village without electricity or running water.

In fact, we attended their farewell party held here in Pampas marina, where we live. Mads has lived in a houseboat here before and the last time before departure they had their nice sailboat lying right here. One early morning (so early that we didn't have time to wake up and wave) they glided past our houseboat and out towards the open waters.

Ida Marken and her family, husband and two young children, can be considered a real adventure family. By the time their son turned five, he had already travelled to Asia three times and Africa twice. However, the trip the family is about to embark on is unlike anything they have ever done before.
Alexandra Khalifa lives just outside Stockholm with her family, husband and 5-year-old daughter. Alexandra has always enjoyed travelling and doesn't let children or a limited budget stop the family from going on exciting camping trips, both in Europe and on the other side of the world.
