Guest of the week: Mads Poulsen and Lotta Logård, Round-the-world sailors.

In May this year, Mads Poulsen and Lotta Logård left Stockholm in their sailboat S/Y Looma IV to embark on their longest ever sailing trip. In fact, we attended their farewell party held here in Pampas marina, where we live. Mads has lived in a houseboat here before and the last time before departure they had their nice sailboat lying right here. One early morning (so early that we didn't have time to wake up and wave) they glided past our houseboat and out towards the open waters.

Ida Marken and her family, husband and two young children, can be considered a real adventure family. By the time their son turned five, he had already travelled to Asia three times and Africa twice. However, the trip the family is about to embark on is unlike anything they have ever done before.

Janne Varne and Frank Olsen, from Sandnes in southern Norway, enjoy travelling with their motorhome. Less than two months ago, they embarked on their longest ever motorhome trip. They have begun the journey by experiencing Norway properly and will then travel through Russia, the Baltic States, Poland, the Czech Republic and Croatia, among others, to reach Greece, where they have a holiday home and holiday apartments for rent.

Guest of the Week: Jacob and Frida Ode, adventurers

Only 27 and 28 years old, Jacob and Frida Ode have already travelled extensively in Asia and spent a year in New Zealand. They have also worked for long periods as ski and diving instructors in different parts of the world. Right now, the couple is planning a brand new project unlike anything they've done before. They will be travelling around the world for 2-3 years in a van, which they are furnishing to live in.

Ann-Sofie and Jonas have both been sailing most of their lives and six years ago they left Sweden for the longest sailing trip ever. During this time they have mainly sailed in the Mediterranean, but they have also travelled all the way to the Caribbean on their boat S/Y Lady Annila. Now a new era in the couple's life is about to begin, with permanent residence in Portugal.

Lars Bengtsson was attracted to travel and adventure early on, but thought backpacking was too much about chasing the next bus. Instead, he realised that he could experience the world from the saddle of a bicycle. Lars' first major cycling trip was in 2004, when he cycled all the way from Europe to Asia.

Angeliqa Mejstedt lives in Västerås, Sweden, and is currently studying for a master's degree, but when she is free, it is hiking in nature that attracts her. For Angeliqa, outdoor life is not about any competition where you have to get the furthest or highest, but instead it is the joyful, simple and relaxed that is in focus. Angeliqa has walked countless hiking trails in Sweden, but also made exciting hikes in countries such as the USA, Malaysia and Spain.
