Last year, we (me, Peter, Billie and Billie's cousin Pontus) took a trip to northern Sweden with the camper van, and I promised I would show some pictures. In fact, it was really cold in northern Sweden last summer. Fortunately, we found some things to do anyway...

Quad biking in Morocco

Now we have tried quad biking in Morocco. We booked a quad bike tour yesterday and got to go to Palmerie, an area just outside Marrakech. We booked the tour on site in Marrakech, in one of all the small shops that sell excursions, and were picked up by car at the square when it was time. It was a really cool tour with a lot going on!

Book tip: K2 on life and death by Fredrik Sträng

We love adventure, but some adventures are best experienced in book form. Climbing K2 is such an adventure. In 'K2 on life and death', Fredrik Sträng describes the 2008 expedition to K2, when eleven climbers lost their lives. You do wonder why they put themselves through this, but it is also fascinating to follow them up the mountain.

We had booked a rafting trip in the Vindelälven river at noon, but when we arrived at Forsknäckarna in Ekorrsele, between Lycksele and Umeå, there had been a misunderstanding and the boats were full. We were offered our own tour at 16.00, and in the meantime we got, at no extra cost, both food and a high-altitude course. A fair deal we thought!

Horse riding in Idre - nature and a little drama

Yesterday it was time for horse riding in Idre. I have ridden a lot when I was younger, and think that riding is a fantastic way to experience nature. Peter and Billie have ridden a bit and Pontus once, but all three were positive about today's adventure! We got nice horses and got to follow the guide Mia on a wonderful trip in the forest and on the mountain.

Beaver safari without beavers in Lake Grövelsjön

Last night it was time for a beaver safari in a canoe. A guide took us and a group of Dutch people to Grövelsjön. It was a bit warmer coming down from the mountain and beautiful and calm on the lake, so we had a really nice canoe trip. This is a great thing to do for a whole family, when everyone can get involved together and have some excitement about seeing some cool beavers.
