Brewery in Bruges - Belgian beer at De Halve Maan

We are now in Flanders in Belgium, where we took the opportunity to visit a brewery in Bruges. We have taken a guided tour of the brewery De Halve Maan. This brewery is located in the middle of charming Bruges, but leads all beer out of the city through a several kilometres long (!) pipeline. We also did a lot of other things, from a boat ride in the canals to a diamond museum.

The Lavaux wine region in Switzerland is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of the vineyard terraces built by monks 800 years ago. Now this is a picturesque area with green vineyard terraces sloping steeply down to the green-blue lake, and small villages where family-owned vineyards are densely packed. Who doesn't want to take the opportunity to shop for wine in Italy? We took the motorhome to the wine regions north of Verona to make some smart wine purchases in Valpolicella. Here we took the opportunity to visit the candy shop for wine lovers. We have been to Valpolicella several times before and visited the vineyards. This time we decided to shop smart and cheap at a cantina.

We're back in Sweden, but now we have to tell you about the cheese and dish raclette in Switzerland! Before we travelled to Switzerland, I had a rather vague idea of raclette. I knew it involved melted cheese and some kind of side dish, but you can't just eat cheese for dinner, can you? Or can you ... ? We have now had raclette twice - once in the traditional way and once with a raclette iron on the table. Now we know a bit more what it's all about.
