This is our current favourite: creamy pasta salad with cold smoked salmon. The salad is perfect for lunch or dinner on hot summer days, and is equally good in the campervan or on a picnic. Great with a cold beer or some sparkling wine!

I thought almond mussels were cookies, but apparently not only. When we were at the Coop yesterday, we found a type of mussel that we had never seen before and it was called almond mussels. Curious as we are, we bought a net.
Read moreWe have always called this fish seabream, but now we have seen that it can also be called guldsparid in Swedish. Many people may recognise it from the Mediterranean countries, where it is usually called dorada, dourada or similar depending on the country.
Read moreLast night we finally tried making our own sushi. It was really fun! The rice took the longest to make. It had to be rinsed, boiled, mixed with sushi-su (a mixture of rice vinegar, rice wine and sugar) and then cooled. Anyway, we were happy with the result, and it was really, really good!
Read moreWe had a magical dining experience yesterday at the Fish Market restaurant in Reykjavik. We had the most amazing meal in a restaurant that we've ever eaten. ever. It will be interesting to see how this tastes, but we can at least say that it smells very good!

Read moreWe've had a lot of seafood in Halifax, here in Canada. This is a city on the coast, so perhaps it is not so strange that there is plenty of fish here. As you walk along the quayside, you pass one fish restaurant after another. Both the ingredients and the way they are served are slightly different from what you are used to from Sweden and Europe, but it's good!
Read moreSometimes we make fish soup or fish stew from scratch. But sometimes it's nice to keep it simple. We start with a ready-made soup and "heat it up" with extra ingredients and spices. And we serve it with a baguette with cambozola - not bad at all!
Read moreOf course you want to take the opportunity to eat seafood in Smögen. The very best seafood is supposed to be here, and if there's one thing we really love, it's prawns, crayfish, crabs and the like. The fog is thick as you can see and the air is quite cold, but what does that matter when you can feast on delicious seafood?
