This weekend we visited the Medieval Museum in Stockholm and experienced Stockholm's history underground. Although we've lived in Stockholm for decades, we've never made it here, until now. And we highly recommend this museum! There are remnants of the real medieval Stockholm and beautifully constructed medieval environments. What's more, visiting the museum is completely free of charge.

Trier is Germany's oldest city, located in the Moselle Valley (Rhineland-Palatinate), close to the border with Luxembourg. This city has been an important Roman city and offers impressive Roman monuments such as Roman baths, an amphitheatre and a Roman bridge that is still in use. Burg Hohenzollern in Germany is located high up on a mountain, and you have to pass through countless gates before reaching the actual castle. We found a good place to park the motorhome and took the opportunity to explore the castle, both inside and out.

In the Ardeche region of France, you'll find unparalleled scenery with a dramatic canyon, a long river with crystal clear water and intensely green forests. There are also lots of deep caves, some of which are home to 36,000-year-old paintings. We tried gliding down the long river in a canoe and fell in love. We want to go back!

Now we've started rolling north from the French coast, and on the way we've visited the town of Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume and what is considered to be the tomb of Mary Magdalene. Yesterday we visited the impressive Thoronet Abbey in Provence, which was built in the 12th century. The visit to the cool and splendid monastery was impressive, but the highlight of the day was the evening, when we were invited to a real Swedish crayfish meal with blog friends!
