Easter in Spain is very different from Easter in Sweden. Easter is celebrated for the same religious reason as in Sweden, i.e. to commemorate the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus. However, many of the Swedish Easter traditions, such as Easter baskets and Easter eggs, have nothing to do with the suffering of Jesus, but originate from folklore and non-religious traditions... In Spain, it is easier to understand the religious connection!

After the presentation, it was time for the opponent, Dr Craig Melville from the University of Glasgow, to lead the questioning and discussion. He asked tricky but good questions. I was very, very happy with the opponent, but after two hours of questioning in English, I was still exhausted...
Read moreWe celebrate Midsummer with Peter's brother on Blidö in the Stockholm archipelago. They have a nice red cottage right by the water. Very idyllic and just what you want on a Midsummer's Eve. There are a total of 26 people here, and three motorhomes are parked around the site.

Read moreYesterday we celebrated New Year's Eve in Langkawi, at a place by the beach called Oasis. For 100 ringgit (about 200 SEK) per person we got a buffet, fire, lanterns and fireworks. The nicest surprise was that Linda, Ludvig and their children, from Mary af Rövarhamn, came to join us, along with another Swedish family they know who are staying at a nearby hotel.
