Now the new living room in the houseboat is ready! It has been a lot of work with all the details, but now it is also ready. Lamps, mouldings and ventilation are in place. Peter has also fixed a small computer table and put up roller blinds. And the stove is in place, but I think you have seen it before.

Painting with fire protection paint

According to the rules of the building permit, the new extension on the houseboat must fulfil certain fire protection rules. This is usually achieved by using plaster layers in the walls, but as we don't want to build with plaster, we have turned to another solution: fire protection paint. We are now painting the ceiling and walls of the new living room with this paint.

Now we (read Peter) have built a terrace on the houseboat. Now you can walk straight out from the living room to the terrace, where we will of course have outdoor furniture. At the front is a small elevation with two pillar lamps, where we plan to have a barbecue. We feel very satisfied!

Now we have got the inner roof up in the houseboat. It was a lot of work, of course, just like with everything else! Peter and his youngest son Billie worked together for a long time. Finally, the living room of the motorhome got a ceiling with recessed lights.

Summer jobs in construction

We are painting and repainting the houseboat. The panel is pretty much finished (light grey) and most of the windows and linings are also finished (white). But there are still a lot of details left, plus all the metal to be painted: deck, pillars, railing, ladder ... I can't possibly do it all and youngest son Billie is happy that there are summer jobs.

Warm floor, parquet and fireplace

At the weekend, eldest son Robin was here to help Peter lay the heated floor and parquet. Then Peter's brother Dennis came and helped with the stove and chimney. The previous owner bought the stove, but we have had to buy the chimney, and there are of course a lot of rules to follow when it goes in in terms of distance, materials in the walls and so on.
