Saturday and guest blog with Elisabeth Haug

And now our holiday is over. When I look back at my first blog posts and see how we planned the trip, I can see that we have stayed very close to the original plan. Where we deviated from the plan was when our fridge broke down and we had to search high and low for alternative solutions. We have learnt that servicing the living area of the motorhome is difficult, almost impossible to do in Croatia.

Saturday and guest blog with Elisabeth Haug

After a few days we want to start moving again, because we had an unplanned stop in Dubrovnik, the stay in Greece was a little shorter than we thought. It was still quite ok, Greece is still there. Left early from Thessaloniki to get as far up as possible. Had decided on a "driving day" so we left at 06.15. It was quiet on the roads and we quickly drove up to the border with Macedonia. The roads in Greece are very nice. It is probably our "road favourite" so far. 🙂

Now we are almost halfway through our journey, on Saturday (read today) we have been out for 3 weeks and we then have the same amount of time left. Things happen that you have not planned for better or worse. It means that you have so many memories to deal with later. I think you benefit from the holiday well into the autumn when we sit and remember the trip. What may not feel so funny at the moment, usually becomes a good laugh later.

Saturday and guest blog with Elisabeth Haug

Once down on the island of Pag in Croatia, it felt like the holiday really started. We were probably not quite used to the heat so the first few days we just took it easy and enjoyed being together and did everything in slow motion. We don't have AC in the car so you have to be aware that it can get hot at night. It actually goes quite well.

Now is the last thing to be done here at home before the trip. We have had time to plan a lot this year and made some improvements to the car. It feels like we are compensating for what we didn't get to do last year. Last year we didn't have time to do much. We packed clothes and passports, then went out. It went well too 🙂 As long as we have all the papers belonging to the car, passports and visa cards, we can complete the rest during the journey.
