We had no expectations of the city of Olomouc at all. Perhaps because we hadn't even heard of the place until very recently. Wow, what a surprise! We can really, really recommend this little hidden gem. Cosy alleys, impressive historical buildings and a fantastic restaurant.

Lednice. Getting a summer house has been popular from time to time even in Sweden, but usually you think of something small and relatively simple. So I definitely thought not the Liechtenstein family when they acquired Chateau Lednice in the southern Czech Republic back in the day. The bigger the better seems to have been their motto.

If you visit Brno in the Czech Republic, don't miss Villa Tugendhat. But you need to book your visit least 2 months in advance. A limited number of visitors are accepted and the interest is very high. And yes, we understand why! The visit to the villa was definitely one of the highlights in Brno.

Štramberk is a cosy little village in the eastern Czech Republic, with an old castle and small colourful houses climbing up a hill. We went here the day before yesterday (40 min by bus from Ostrava) and got to visit a cave where they found traces of Neanderthals.
