Work trip today again: destination Laholm. With a flight from Bromma to Ängelholm, I was down in Skåne in just over an hour, and then it was just a car over Hallandsåsen to get to Laholm.

The reason we are here in Halifax: IASSID World Congress 2012 (IASSID = International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual Disabilities). I spend the days in an air-conditioned congress hall, while Peter enjoys the sun... In the evenings, we can enjoy seafood together at a harbourside restaurant in the evening sun.

For us, and many others, the motorhome is mainly for leisure and holidays. However, we sometimes use it in my job, when I give lectures in different parts of the country. Then it can be convenient to have the house with you and not have to book a hotel, or get off the train with your breath in your throat. Others often use the motorhome for work.

Now it's half time! Today I have completed my mid-term seminar. I am a doctoral student at Karolinska Institutet and half-time, for those of you who are not familiar with the academic world, is a seminar that takes place when you have reached halfway to a doctorate. Being able to do this feels like a big step along the way!

This weekend we are busy renovating and painting at home. Most people get bigger and bigger homes. We plan to do just the opposite: get smaller and smaller. With the motorhome, we've discovered that it's nice to live small. Less stuff = more freedom.

Today I have visited Visby during the day, for work. Very easy to fly from Bromma to Visby, a journey of only 35 minutes. It has mostly been work, but also a short walk in the charming town and a fantastic ramson soup for lunch.

I am far from being alone with my name. As you know, my most famous namesake is one of Sweden's greatest actresses. KI Bladet (the staff magazine at Karolinska Institutet) came up with the idea of bringing me and actress Helena Bergström together for a career talk.
