Join us in Sigtuna, Sweden's oldest city! Yesterday we woke up to blue skies and decided to take a trip. Where would we go? It was a trip to Sweden's oldest city. It's been many years since we were last there and Sigtuna is a wonderfully cosy town to stroll around in. And of course it's fun to take photos in a town with so many charming old houses!

Yesterday we were invited to an event by the Chinese Tourism Administration of Henan at the Sheraton Hotel in Stockholm. The province of Henan was presented, and it was really interesting. China is one of those huge countries that we know far too little about. Suddenly a province is mentioned that you don't really know about, and then it turns out that 100 million people live there ...!

Ditte Akker is an experienced traveller with a keen interest in culture and nature who has seen many different places in the world over the years. She has also lived and worked in several different countries. In 2007, Ditte got a job as a teacher at the Swedish School in Beijing and moved there with her husband Bosse. Last night we were invited by Tourism Malaysia to a Malaysian evening at Finlandshuset in Stockholm. There was food, dance performances and information about the country as a tourist destination. The aim was of course to attract more Scandinavians to experience Malaysia. The most fun was watching the dancers - and we actually heard some unexpected things about Malaysia that we can tell you about!

Turku archipelago: ferries, art and barefoot paths

Yesterday we visited the Art Bank art museum, which turned out to have some real surprises. The day before yesterday we tried some of the most typical winter activities in the Turku archipelago: ice fishing and sauna bathing. Yesterday it was time to continue exploring the archipelago outside Turku. We started in Korpo, where a barefoot trail in the forest offered unexpected surprises. Then we went to an art museum with an impressive collection in Pargas.
