One of the things I really like about houseboating is being so close to nature. You can hear the water lapping and when I cook breakfast I see ducks, herons (yes, yesterday there were two) and perch. This morning some birds had a race on the roof, and I heard them chasing each other back and forth.

In addition to Aquavillas and traditional houseboats, there are three "Villa Voyager" here in Pampas Marina. These are oblong little floating houses for permanent living, with large doors at the ends and small windows along the sides.

Peter is working extra today, and I am at home in the boat. The neighbours pointed out to me that the start of the Mälaren Runt on MC would be at 11:00, from Pampas Marina. For the 28th year in a row, a huge group of motorcyclists gather and ride around Lake Mälaren, with various stops and activities.

It doesn't get much better than this! We unpack a box every now and then. But mostly we sit on the deck, enjoying the sun and listening to reggae. You don't want to miss such fantastic days. I hope you also had the opportunity to enjoy the summer heat!
