What is it like to live on a boat in winter? We get this question from time to time. Most people wonder if it is cold to live in a houseboat, or perhaps if it is damp. Or they wonder if the docks are slippery. We can promise that there is no need for us to worry! But of course, winter comes with some challenges.

How is it among the houseboats in Pampas marina in the middle of winter? Just yesterday I (Helena) was asked if it is cold to live in a houseboat, but we are not the least bit cold. I freeze a lot at work during the day and every day it is nice to come home to our warm cosy boat! It's also really nice now that it's white and wintry all around.

It's Friday again! Living in a houseboat is always exciting, so when it's time for Happy Friday, we have to share the houseboat life with you. Living like this makes us always just as happy! This week Peter has photographed a huge floating villa that slipped by a few centimetres from our houseboat. I don't want to be worse, so I've been photographing the huge construction going on outside the windows at my work.

Ever since we came home from Helsinki (and Israel), the houseboat has been in chaos. The suitcases are unpacked, there's laundry and dishes everywhere, and to top it off, Peter has set up a green screen studio in the living room. Did you think that was enough? No, the ice on Lake Ulvsunda is playing tricks on us too. Friday at last! Let's do Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! Admittedly, it is a bit sad to come home from travelling, but it is still nice to come to a home where you feel comfortable. Personal news this week is that I (Helena) started a new job and ... a new houseboat slipped into the marina. In addition, we can enjoy watching Peter's last two films from the Israel trip! I (Helena) am still sick, with winter vomiting or some other misery. I don't get many metres from the bed and none of us were outside the houseboat yesterday. So what can we offer then? We'll just have to show some views from a houseboat. Here in the marina where we live always something!

If we look back at October and November, we can see that we have taken a small break from travelling. To begin with, it has been quite nice with a little break, but now it starts to itch in the travelling arm. So what do our future plans look like?
