Our FREEDOM motorhome is finally home - after seven months in the workshop. It is wonderful to see it in the car park. but it's not quite as fun as it could have been. When we handed it in, it had one error. When we picked it up, this particular fault was fixed, but now there were a lot of new faults on the motorhome after the workshop!

Writing about the weather is pretty boring, but this weather is so extremely unpleasant that you need to write about it. Snowy rain thundering in at high speed from the side. Could it get much worse? Of course, it's cold and dark too. We amuse ourselves by working ... and waiting for news of a broken motorhome.

On Friday, Peter picked me up at work with the camper van because we were going to lecture at a meeting with the Caravan Club at Husbilslandet in Kristinehamn. We were looking forward to the joint dinner that would be organised at 7 pm, but there was no dinner at Husbilslandet for us. Our Friday evening ended much more dramatically, with the towing of a motorhome.

Water leak in a motorhome - can it get worse? When we photographed the wedding Last weekend we slept in the motorhome. When we woke up on the morning of the wedding day, it was to a less than pleasant sight - the floor in the bathroom and in the hallway was soaked. Yep, we had a water leak!

The campsite owner at Camping Sardegna in Porto Pino, Sardinia, asked us to move the motorhome back two metres. No problem! Since we were travelling such a short distance, we didn't bother to close the windows... but we should have.

How does it work to get help from car mechanics abroad? The engine light in our campervan comes on from time to time. We have has asked at several workshops in the past, but no one can find the fault. However, the last few times we have driven it has become worse.

This morning we hung out at the garage in Caen while they fixed the most pressing issue - the coolant hose. When we left a couple of hours later, the engine light was still on, but they promised that it wasn't an urgent problem and that we could check it out later. (They didn't have time.) But what happened in the afternoon? The engine jumped and the car started running really bad. Panic!

Today we spent the whole day at a car repair shop in Caen here in France. I attempted a few words and phrases in broken (and largely forgotten) school French and Peter reinforced it all with sign language. In the end, there was further conversation via Google Translate in the workshop's office... haha.
