We have now checked out of La Pari-Pari, our cosy hotel on Langkawi. Right now we are sitting in the restaurant and spending a few hours with a cold fruit drink, before it is time to go to the airport and continue towards Kuala Lumpur. It will be exciting to see the capital, but we will really miss this hotel and the staff here!

Today we have done a full day sailing trip by catamaran in Malaysia, here on Langkawi. It was a really nice excursion, and if anyone is going here, we can highly recommend a trip with Rampant sailing. The couple who organised the trip were very nice and made sure it was a really good day.

Today we have made an excursion to the north-eastern part of Langkawi, and made a mangrove boat trip through the mangrove swamp. It was an interesting trip, where we got to see all sorts of wildlife - some of which we've never heard of before - and learn more about nature.

Yesterday we celebrated New Year's Eve in Langkawi, at a place by the beach called Oasis. For 100 ringgit (about 200 SEK) per person we got a buffet, fire, lanterns and fireworks. The nicest surprise was that Linda, Ludvig and their children, from Mary af Rövarhamn, came to join us, along with another Swedish family they know who are staying at a nearby hotel.

We visited the Underwater World in Langkawi. This is one of the biggest attractions in Langkawi and the huge building houses lots of fish and other animals from a variety of environments, from the rainforest to Antarctica.
