Vikingabyn Storholmen is an open-air museum beautifully situated by Lake Erken in Roslagen. For a few weeks in the summer, the village is populated by a Viking association, and at certain times families with children and others are welcomed to learn more about the Viking Age and our exciting history.

During the last night of the midsummer weekend, we went free camping at Lake Erken in Roslagen, at Svanberga bathing area. Here we had a fantastic view of the beautiful lake, and we were surprised by a nature reserve with impressive oak trees and ... a Viking village. I work in the Stockholm County Council and since the county stretches from Södertälje in the south to Norrtälje in the north, there are sometimes longer journeys for meetings. After the meeting, the sun was shining in Norrtälje and I took a short walk along the Norrtälje river.
Read moreWe celebrate Midsummer with Peter's brother on Blidö in the Stockholm archipelago. They have a nice red cottage right by the water. Very idyllic and just what you want on a Midsummer's Eve. There are a total of 26 people here, and three motorhomes are parked around the site.
