Karlberg Castle in Stockholm is within walking distance from our houseboat in Pampa's marina. We walk or drive past there quite often, and finally we thought we had to take some photos of the castle. At the same time, we wanted to tell you why Pampas is called Pampas - it is connected to Karlberg Castle.

Right now we have a conference with work at Ulfsunda Castle. The castle is located in Bromma and like many other similar old buildings, it is used today for conferences and weddings, and as a hotel and restaurant. The castle was built in the mid-17th century and has had many different owners over the years, ranging from private nobles to the county council. Among other things, Queen Kristina once celebrated midsummer here.

This is a rather small 17th century castle that was inhabited by the Bonde family until 1931 when the City of Stockholm bought the castle and the land to build the suburbs of Hässelby and Vällingby.
