Drinking well was something you did in the past, both at Swedish spas and at spas in Europe. Today it is perhaps more common that the spas have been transformed into modern spa and wellness resorts, but in the Czech Republic you can actually still drink well. Walking around these fantastically beautiful and well-preserved spas is an experience in itself.

We have spent a few hours at a nice spa hotel in Åre, namely at the luxurious Copperhill Mountain Lodge close to nature. The hotel is located on a mountain and offers both a relaxing spa and a Nordic menu with local ingredients. What we liked best was lying in the warm water and looking out over the snowy landscape and the skiers outside the large windows.

We finally got to try a real spa in the Czech Republic, in the Czech spa town of Marianske Lazne. It was a Roman spa at a five-star spa hotel, with several different pools, whirlpools and saunas. We have visited Marianske Lazne 2 times... Once by motorhome and once by train and staying in a hotel. We write about both experiences.

We have arrived at the Hotel President, our hotel in Budapest. We must say that we are already enjoying ourselves after a few hours, both in the huge luxurious hotel room and in the snowy city. We have been out for a while and had a soup and a beer and started planning for New Year's Eve.
