Motorhome parking in Pozzallo - Sicily in the summer heat

We have now found a pitch in Pozzallo, Sicily. High season and 35 degree heat is stressful when travelling, and Sicily is probably better at another time of the year. Campsites are of course also significantly more expensive during the high season and we would like to find affordable pitches, but asphalt parking without shade is tough in the heat ... One positive thing is that despite the high season, it has not been full anywhere.

Marina di Ragusa - sun and swimming in Sicily

Now we have arrived at Marina di Ragusa, which is on the coast not far from Ragusa. We rolled into the car park here late last night. This is a fairly ordinary site on an asphalt car park, but there are services (even showers!) and we got a fantastic welcome from Tony, who immediately wanted to tell us all about where we had come, about the beer festival going on and how to find our way around the town.

West coast of Sardinia

The day before yesterday we left Bosa and started driving south along the west coast of Sardinia. Today we have reached the small village of Portixeddu, just north of Buggerru. The roads are winding - sometimes along the coast and sometimes high up in the mountains. We have driven past fields, beaches, high mountains and industrial areas, and sometimes straight through small charming villages (where the motorhome barely fits on the roads).

Now we have found a favourite place in Sardinia where we feel comfortable! As soon as we rolled in yesterday we felt that "Here we stay for a while!". We started in Alghero on the west coast yesterday afternoon and drove south - on nice winding roads along the coast.

Today we have moved to a beach and campsite at Porto-Vecchio on the south-eastern side of Corsica. The beach is called Plage de Palombaggia and is located just south of Porto-Vecchio. We have read that this is one of the most beautiful beaches in Corsica.

CamperContact is a handy app for finding pitches and campsites. Our nice motorhome neighbours here in Albufeira, Lena and Arne, told us about this app. We have now downloaded the app, which is called CamperContact. We have tested a bit and the app seems very smooth!
