Some days are nicer than others to live in a houseboat in the Pampas marina. The air is still cold, but we've had several days of clear blue skies and bright sunshine. The ducks are flocking around our boat and people are sitting outside the Sea Restaurant enjoying the sun. So far, only the icebreaker occasionally chugs by, but soon the water will probably be filled with other boats as well.

In winter, it's the icebreakers, skaters and divers that make you look up from your breakfast table. And then there are all the animals of course... and all the unexpected drama.

Read moreWe have now found a pitch in Pozzallo, Sicily. High season and 35 degree heat is stressful when travelling, and Sicily is probably better at another time of the year. Campsites are of course also significantly more expensive during the high season and we would like to find affordable pitches, but asphalt parking without shade is tough in the heat ... One positive thing is that despite the high season, it has not been full anywhere.
